“I was beaten on the head & spine with batons & kicked by the SLAF. When I fell down, they dragged me on the road & took me. My leg is badly injured. Dr told me that he would refer me to an orthopedic for long term treatment,” said a journalist who was tortured by the SLAF.
Two SLAF officers were kept on either side of the protestors & told to shoot them if they tried to get up. The officer in black had then got protestors to spread their arms out & hit them hard on both ears @ once. One protestor is still deaf in 1 ear & others are severely batterd

We condemn the attacks on peaceful protestors in #SriLanka last night, where also journalists and lawyers were injured. We urge authorities to show restraint, respect rule of law & fundamental rights. People have a right to peaceful assembly and to express themselves freely.
