OPEC Secretary General, HE Mohammad Sanusi Barkindo, passed away yesterday in his home country Nigeria. He was the much-loved leader of the OPEC Secretariat and his passing is a profound loss to the entire OPEC Family, the oil industry and the international community.

Honored to have been among exceptional colleagues, @srwa_qadir ,@AsmaaYaseen12 & Hadeel Hasan at @IraqEnergy’s forum. Thank you @AL_Khatteeb for moderating a discussion on women’s empowerment in Iraq. Iraq has some useful institutions, but we have a very long way to go.

The #IraqEnergy Forum is in session in Baghdad, again. I was in the last forum in 2019, but couldn’t make it this time. One of the most significant events in Iraq & the region, per level of official, academic & business attendance. Kudos to Dr. @AL_Khatteeb & @IraqEnergy (1)

We’re excited to host the 6th #IraqEnergy Forum, our first since the COVID-19 global pandemic, at @auibaghdad Join us over the next 3 days as we discuss energy opportunities in Iraq, the region and the world with policy makers, experts and investors. iraqenergy.org/ief2022

Iraq is acutely vulnerable to the effects of climate change. It’s good to see decarbonisation strategies being discussed at the @IraqEnergy forum.

Janabi: Liquid fuel-to-gas switching, hydrogen, carbon capture and sequestration are viable pathways to low or near-zero carbon power. Iraq can go from 850 gCO2/kWh to just 60. #IraqEnergy
