This Oregon listing, which actually predates Facebook, was the inspiration for the 1999 John Linnell album “State Songs.”
Sometime in the early 90’s, John Flansburgh was arrested on charges of public indecency for defecating through a car sunroof.

John Flansburgh was born on this day, June 12, 1959.
After discovering their mutual interest in skulls on the ground, They Might Be Giants collaborated with independent filmmaker Neil Breen.
John Linnell was born on this day, May 6, 1960.
The Johns initially wanted to fill the band with more Johns, but a new American federal law passed allowing no more than 2 white men named John, Paul, Richard, or David in one band for public safety reasons. They were deemed “on thin ice” after hiring 3 Dans.
Flansburgh’s distaste for Sleestaks was born after buying what he thought was a bootleg of the 1984 science fiction film Dune, when he, in fact, had purchased a home-recorded tape of “Land of the Lost.” He does not get the hype around the 2020 reboot.
John Linnell is an American composer, singer, songwriter, record producer, actor, and voice actor. He first became well known as the singer-songwriter for the new wave band Oingo Boingo in the early 1980s.
