Agha has had a stellar start to his Test career and looks like a great fit for ODI cricket. So obviously the next logical step was to make him vice-captain of the T20 squad and ensure he loses confidence and his long-format game suffers as a result.

A 3-0 series loss against Australia, so much to reflect on, particularly on the selection of batsman. We need to stop playing top 3 batsman outside of their positions, and start selecting middle order players with hitting ability. Onto the Zimbabwe series now! #AUSvsPAK

People criticising Babar’s SR after the PP. Just a reminder, we lost a wicket in the 7th over, 8th over, and 10th over. Also consider we’ve selected 5 bowlers here. Not sure what you expect him to do, when wickets are falling, and there’s not many batsman to follow? #AUSvsPAK

Why has Agha been made T20I VC when he hasn’t cemented his spot yet. 1(9) today, struggling. He’s definitely not good enough to play in the middle order, that’s not even his natural batting position in T20s. We need to select players with better hitting ability. #AUSvPAK

Sahibzada Farhan out to the short ball, again. Same old news. You can’t be playing international cricket with such flaws in your game. Would very much prefer Saim Ayub over him. Much younger as well! #AUSvsPAK

With the next T20 World Cup being in 2026, now is the right time to invest in Saim Ayub. We all know what he’s capable of. His ability in this format is crazy. We need to back him! #PakistanCricketTeam

Big changes need to be made to Pakistans T20I cricket strategy, particularly the batting. Need more batsman with hitting ability at the top of the order, like Saim & Fakhar. I don’t see us progressing with Babar & Rizwan both in the top 4. Powerplay needs to be used! #AUSvsPAK

30 runs scored by Pakistan in the first powerplay (6 overs). This is T20I cricket! Same old problem. Lack of intent at the top of the order. Where is Saim Ayub? And once the issues with Fakhar are resolved, he needs to be back in the T20I side! #AUSvsPAK

Excellent comeback by Pakistan to restrict Australia to 147, considering the start they had. Nice to see Rauf and Abbas continuing with their good form, and a big congratulations to Sufiyan for picking up 2 wickets. #AUSvsPAK

Very good bowling from Abbas, picking up 3 wickets for just 17 runs in his 4 overs. He varies his pace really well, works well for him in T20 cricket. Good to see him performing. #AUSvsPAK

Excellent bowling by Rauf once again, picking up 4 wickets for just 22 runs in his 4 overs. Seems like he’s been able to hit a good line and length on this pitch, and he’s been rewarded for it. Well bowled! #AUSvsPAK

SR of openers from the last 3 teams who won the T20 WC: 2024: Rohit - 140.89 Kohli - 137.04 2022: Buttler - 146.99 Hales - 138.35 2021: Warner - 142.47 Finch - 142.5 Babar & Rizwan have SR’s of 129.10 and 131.6, respectively. Do Pakistan need to make a change in openers?

94 to chase in 7 overs won’t be easy, especially considering the batsman we have. Let’s hope some of them can turn up on the occasion. #AUSvsPAK

Excellent over from Abbas. Good use of variations, and well deserved 2 wickets. #AUSvPAK

Babar Azam holds the record for the most T20I runs by a Pakistani player against Australia in Australia, scoring 115 runs across 3 innings with an average of 57 and a strike rate of 138.55. #AUSvPAK

Pakistan has NEVER WON a T20I game against Australia, in Australia. They have played 4 games, with Australia winning 3, and 1 ending with no result. #AUSvsPAK

Haris Rauf now holds the all-time best bowling average (19.04) among Pakistani bowlers in ODIs played away in SENA countries—South Africa, England, New Zealand, and Australia (minimum 20 wickets taken).
