It a real big shame to see politicians in other jurisdictions developing their economies and creating wealth and improving standards of living while African politicians centre on disjointed populist projects, to win votes.

Truth be told. Have well meaning Ghanaians protested strongly enough against the demonic galamsey monster? The government may be a monumental failure on that front but have our protestation been strong enough?

With all the unsuccessful efforts to revamp the Komanda Sugar Factory, it could be that the Ghanaian environment does not support a viable sugar industry.

Infrastructural projects are the easiest for any government to do. Just go get a loan and award a contract and boom! it is done. The true test of a government is ensuring economic growth, expanding real employment and income and to ensure a credible and sustainable foundation.

We are all calling for change. IF the current mentallity of politicians and the prevaiing political paradigm is not changed nothing much will change. We need a drastic constitutional re-engineering for a true and meaningful change.

The public discuss on which president built what or who started what is becoming nauseating. Every president, from Rawlings to date have done their bit. Let the narrative be more of how to keep the country moving higher and better.

The two presidential candidates better watch their promises. Else they would become such helpless victims of their own campaign promise spree, when they come to power. It takes funds to meet promises.

How on earth should one arm of government appoint members of another arm when they are supposed to be a check on each other? The executive have no business appointing the judiciary. Its an aberration of democracy. They will always appoint "our own peope", whoever may be in power.

Until there is a major constitutional change in the structure of governance the paradigm of government impunity and manipulation will not stop. The executive should have no business appointing officials of the courts, EC, OSP and other state institutions.

One great bad attribute of politics is the expediency of parties not in power to oppose almost all decisions, proposals, policies and ideas of government, merit not withstanding. This creats needless tension and results in sub-optimum final outcomes. Ultimatly the masses lose.

Why should the executive appoint members of the judiciary. One arm of government appointing members of another arm when they are supposed to be checks on each other. Same with EC (very odd), OSP, IGP etc.

The mutual suspicion between the two political parties and also from the public will not stop if we dont cause a constitutional change to remove the power of appointing officials of state institutions from the executive.

People may redicle Bawumiah for his "driver's mate" claim. The fact, however, remains that he has been the most assertive, preactive and visible of all forth republic vice presidents. This sets a precedent and standard for all future VPs, despite the mess.

That the NDC is the only option open to Ghana after the NPP mess is most regretable and pitiful.

Madam Naana Opoku Agyeman, after such a powerful speech has lifted her public standing to a new height.

It is a blessing in disquise that the NPP has caused such a mess. The situation compels the incoming NDC to do better at all cost. With the castigations, name calling and shaming, it will be most shameful if they fail. May God be with JM and his incoming team.

The Chairman of the NDC gave good advice to the party not to chase positions now. He enjoined them to wait till the catch is in hand then they can 'share'. Woi woi woi, is the 'sharing' going to be in the manner NPP is now 'sharing'?

When Pastors are devoid of spiritual teachings then resort to theatrics and political bashing. Please man of God teach your people how to be holy and spiritual so they can make heaven. Alter all, that is aim of the church. The things you give attention to are just tiny extras.
