Thanks to everyone who joined us live this morning! Of course there was a lot of Roquan Smith talk, but we also touched on the #Bears offensive line and the injuries at wide receiver. You can watch the full replay here: youtube.com/watch?v=Sj9SAY…
I was just doing some work on Joe Flacco before I went on the Score with Steve Rosenbloom and I confused his stats, history with Sam Darnold’s on the air. Really stupid, really dome, I’m really sorry! 🫣
Don’t overreact to anything in preseason! But how excited should you be about Ryan Poles and this team when you see how much better his 2nd and 3rd strings have been than the Texans, Bills and Bengals and they’re all playoff teams ???
A few weeks back my friends and partners, Dan Hampton, Dave Wannstedt and I launched our Pro Football Weekly TV Podcast. It’s free and we’d love to have you join us. Just go to linktr.ee/profootballwee… to get it each week and we hope you enjoy it! 🙏
Bill Tobin wasn’t just an outstanding talent evaluator and key contributor to building the Bears ‘85 Super Bowl champs many consider the best NFL team ever. He was an outstanding human being! Rest in peace Bill, you’ve more than earned it.
Why did Bears GM, HC, OC go to J.J. McCarthy’s pro day 3 days after Caleb Williams’, Jayden Daniels next? Williams is new QB without a physical, having him into Halas Hall or an agent yet? Ryan Poles still has plenty of work to do, no final decision has been made yet! Bank that.
Justin Fields is a special human being. I wish him the very best. But he isn’t an NFL passer or franchise QB. He can’t read the field or make decisions fast enough and his accuracy is below average. Only 1 team would pay as much as a 6th round pick? 🫣 That’s the player he is.
One thing we’ve learned so far this weekend is 1st round buy’s in NFL playoffs may not be the best thing in the world. Ravens and 49ers failed to show up in 1st half’s, 49ers barely survived 😳
Greg Olsen just told us Jordan Love’s 2 greatest growths have been his accuracy and timing. Justin Fields’ 2 greatest problems beyond seeing/reading the field are timing and accuracy? Can it be fixed?
There’s still 3:00 to play but Montez Sweat has had an absolutely huge game vs. Lions.
Not sure I’ve ever seen a moor poorly played game as Broncos, Bills that was as much fun to watch. And I don’t think either team deserved to win😳
Matt Eberflus is 5 games into complete rebuild with half his O-line, 1 starting DB, 0 RB’s and half dozen more key injuries and there has been zero thought at Halas Hall of firing him. End of season we’ll see but for now will the Morons please shut up and give him a fair chance.
Dick Butkus was one of the greatest defensive players in the history of the NFL, I’d say umber 1. He was also my broadcast partner, growing up my idol and a beloved and treasured friend. The world is far poorer tonight but Heaven is a much better place.
Just visited with Justin Fields and he’s a defeated young man. He’s not an NFL passer yet. Only one option left, the Seiya Suzuki plan. Sit Fields down for week or 2. A reboot. Look at Bagent, see what you’ve got, then see if Justin can come back like Suzuki. Yes I saw the error.
Bears T. J. Edwards tied for 4th in NFL week 2 with 14 tackles. Take a breath Bears fans. Packers game sucked for you but we won’t really know who these teams are until at least week 4 or 5. Bears beet 49ers opening day last year, Bengals lost 1st 2 games, how’d that work out?
It’s way too early for any meaningful conclusions! But I spent the last month wondering why the Bears basically took training camp off and they clearly weren’t ready to compete today. Patience guys but it’s going to be a long week and things clearly have to change at every level!
