John Oliver, in arguing how the Dems should respond to the trans kids issue, falsely claims “there is no evidence” trans kids “pose any threat” to fairness in sports. There absolutely is evidence that trans females have a competitive advantage.
This is why Biden said “fund, fund, FUND the police.” The Democratic Party has been shaking itself loose from its crazy progressive tail, but it needs to do so even more firmly to win elections in the future.

Read @ezraklein on the mysterious power of the groups. What I was told about this by members who back the bill is that EJ groups with no concrete leverage were just very effective at persuading non-specialist staffers — more a question of epistemics than power.
