Daughter spent days over Easter making layered rainbow jelly. Magical stuff. Pure joy. #Easter2021
Yesterday afternoon’s staff PD meeting saw us greeted at the door by SLT proffering Lemonade Popsicles!! Shout out to our Principal both for arranging them, and for acknowledging her sister for the inspiration. 🌸 Great visions travel far. 🌻 Little things make a big difference.
Making the most of the summer… this place was pure magic.
Gearing up to enter my 10th year in the classroom. It feels like a blink & a lifetime. What would I tell my first-year self? Listen more - to students, to colleagues, to the things not said... and if in doubt listen even harder. Trust your instincts. What about you? #EduTwitter
I didn’t grow up celebrating Halloween. It’s wasn’t big in NZ. Somehow the parenting compromise has become a spooky lunchbox instead. They’re all teens & can handle their own insane sugar highs. No teachers were harmed in the provision of these lunches. And I’m excited for mine!
Pretty happy with this as my first ever stop motion project. Interesting PD in class today.
Today’s after school meeting for PD (professional development) involves rainbow coloured craft materials… 🌈 ✂️ ✏️
Our Rangers (Girl Guides) were working on mapping skills tonight. Thinking about what contour lines on maps represent by making playdoh models based on maps, and making maps based on models.
Student excuses - today’s one made me laugh. “Miss, the dog at my goggles.” Luckily, there are spares. 🏊♂️🏊🏊♀️
Love this so much. Adding it to my travel bucket list. 🪣
I'm rarely starstruck by museum exhibits, but these are the *actual* toys owned by Christopher Robin, which inspired Winnie-the-Pooh. Thanks to the team at the New York Public Library for taking such good care of them. @NYPL

Pretty happy that I get to hand this session over to the professionals. Being able to swim is such an important skill. We are lucky to have the opportunity to get some time in the pool to polish skills - at whatever level our learners are at. 🏊♀️ 🏊♂️ 🏊
📢Competition time! 📢 I will give away a copy of my book. Like and retweet to enter. I will draw the winner on the 21st of July. Sentence models for creative writing: A practical resource for teaching writing amzn.eu/d/9tdRTmj #Amazon via @Amazon

Attended the unveiling and blessing of the Te Hōnonga a Iwi stone today. Planted a kōwhai tree to join the 1,500+ trees planted over the last year. It’s an awesome community project with some very lofty goals. businessnh.org.nz/te-hononga-a-i…
