What's so stunning to me is that we have some data about how many people are disabled, permanently out of work, and continuing to struggle with long COVID. And people are still like "its not that many people." 1/9

This is exactly why Ontario should not stop wastewater testing. Covid is not the threat it once was, but it's still a massive cause of acute illness and overall poor health, and regularly still overwhelms our hospitals. Ignorance is not bliss.

“Pandemic is over!” Can’t see what you aren’t looking for. 🤷🏽‍♂️ (The difference between the red lines and the green lines is wastewater samples versus cases identified by test)👇🏽

This could easily happen in Canada. (And evidence shows it could lead to smarter, healthier kids.)

Latvia (population 1.9 M) monitors the indoor air quality of 14,000 classrooms in 875 schools. CO2 levels, temperature and relative humidity can be viewed freely online at: co2.mesh.lv It is one of the most advanced countries in this field and a source of inspiration.

Congratulations, Chris and team!!

Delighted to see this @GlobalRepCentre project get a data journalism nomination from #DPA24. An honour for the GRC and my research team. Of course, this couldn't have happened without 100s of journalists around the world completing our (not short!) survey. Thank you!
