I was shocked to see a KS1 teaching post advertised for 1 year which was full time, paying term time only which works out at.66 , a worrying trend .
I am currently working at a school where the teachers are told only the evening before that an advisor is coming in to do observations. What are people’s thoughts on this ?
A school has told staff that because the school is closed tomorrow due to the storm that this is now their PPA and they will have no PPA for the next two weeks after half term ?Thoughts please.
I can’t believe that on my daughters first day of her PGCE tutors were talking about VAK and each student had to say what their preferred learning style was 😫😫😫😤
This is Imogen described by her secondary school as “an air head” and her sixth form college as not suitable for A levels. I wonder why ? She has just been awarded a first class honours degree , I am very proud of my daughter.
1985 write ch on the black board , write words beginning with ch , discuss. 10 minute lesson. 2021 prepare power point and differentiated work sheets , stick sheets in books . 30 minute lesson , probably no discussion . We have over complicated life.

Calling all supply teachers , I’ve taken the issue of supply teachers not being eligible for the 10% at Morrison’s, they are currently reviewing the policy - fingers crossed
All the best to everyone returning to school tomorrow. I salute and clap you all . I retired at Easter ,and I have stood at the sidelines feeling full of admiration for you all.
Having only recently retired from being a head teacher of a large infant school my heart goes out to all of the heads grappling with all of these decisions. I feel guilty but I have to admit to a sense of relief. Respect to you all.
