Fernando is an incredibly talented reporter and a great person. Happy to see him honored alongside the @LookoutSCruz for his work on last year’s storms in Northern California.
Congratulations to our friends at the Pulitzer Prize-winning @LookoutSCruz for this well-deserved honor, and to the Watchdog’s own @FernandoAHaro for his contribution to this coverage. Read Lookout’s full reporting on last year’s catastrophic storm here: lookout.co/storms-2023-ro…
So proud of my brother @FernandoAHaro for being such a dedicated journalist. Any newspaper would be extremely lucky to have you.
You were a great contributor, @FernandoAHaro 🙌🏼
This is why local journalism is important. Congratulations to the incredibly talented staff at @LookoutSCruz They did such a great job covering the December/January storms that affected Santa Cruz in 2023. Honored to have been able to help them for a few days last year.

The three of us that are on strike have been notified by @LongBeachPost leadership that they’re permanently replacing us, which underscores what the @LBMGuild has been saying all along: They are not serious about supporting labor or reaching a realistic end to this strike.

I think it is bad that the chair of a journalism nonprofit is threatening to sue his own journalists for speech.
The chair of the board of directors for the Long Beach Journalism Initiative threatened to sue the Long Beach Media Guild last week over a Watchdog news story and flyers announcing a federal investigation into the company. Read it on the Watchdog: lbwatchdog.com/p/long-beach-j…

As Mayor of a city that values and has benefitted from a robust network of independent local media outlets, I’m deeply concerned by the recent layoffs and ongoing dispute between the workers and management at our city’s largest newsrooms, the Long Beach Post and the Long Beach…

I wrote this story a week ago today but it didn’t get edited because management was too busy acquiring and resetting passwords in anticipation of laying people off. If you want to know what it says feel free to ask me. Don’t cross the click-it line. Don’t read @LongBeachPost

So excited that our report on CA's nail salon workforce is out! Check out this incredible coverage on our findings by @josie_huang This report is close to my heart--I'm raised by nail salon workers. They deserve better labor and health protections.
Exclusive coverage from @josie_huang at @LAist: "For all the demands of the job, the nail salon workforce — mostly comprised of Vietnamese immigrant women — has some of the worst paid workers in California." Read about our new research with @CA_HNSC: laist.com/news/californi…

This is important health information that is especially relevant as politicians make decisions about what to do next. As a nonprofit news source, it's the kind of info @_Brandon_E and other @LongBeachPost reporters strive to provide. Support it here: lbpost.com/give/ 4/4
