Passchendale, Beaumont Hamel, Vimy, Dieppe, Anzio, Arnhem, Normandy, Kapyong, Kandahar. And so many more. To those who were afraid and went anyway. Who did it for those they knew and didn’t know. Who did it for us. Thank you. 🙏🏻 🌺🇨🇦 #LestWeForget

On this day in 1918, at 10:58 a.m., George Lawrence Price died after he was shot by a German sniper. His death came two minutes before the end of the First World War. He was the last Canadian killed in the war. Let's learn more about him and his life. 🧵1/8

We want to thank every single Canadian that paid their respects and honoured Canada’s Veterans today. #RemembranceDay #CanadaRemembers
They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old: Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning We will remember them. #ArmisticeDay #Remembrance
Canada led off this morning among Commonwealth countries at the Cenotaph on Whitehall in London, laying wreaths to commemorate those who have lost their lives defending freedom, democracy, human rights, due process and the rule of law. The march-past included more than 10,000.
For Remembrance Sunday, to mark the 80th anniversary of D-Day, the Elizabeth Tower is illuminated with poppies and pictures from the 1944 landings. This is in collaboration with the @I_W_M
A remarkable photograph capturing the first two minutes of silence in London, exactly 105 years ago. In those moments, the immense burden of personal grief and mourning would have been amplified beyond comprehension. #LestWeForget
Just 11 World War 2 veterans at the Cenotaph this year. Here are 7 of them, including 104 year old Christian Lamb who mapped the Normandy beaches for D-Day troops from right here in Whitehall. It was her first time in the March past.
Blackadder Goes Forth moving tribute to the men and women who served during the Great War, World War I (28 July 1914 – 11 November 1918). Emotionally powerful. 🇬🇧❤️
We remember them. On behalf of the nation, The King lays a wreath at the Cenotaph during the annual Service of Remembrance. Wreaths were also laid by The Prince of Wales, The Princess Royal and The Duke of Edinburgh, and on behalf of The Queen and The Duke of Kent.
Captain Blackadder: "How are you feeling, Darling?" Captain Darling "Ahm - not all that good, Blackadder. Rather hoped l'd get through the whole show. Go back to work at Pratt & Sons; keep wicket for the Croydon gentlemen; marry Doris. Made a note in my diary on the way here.…

Tonight is 86th anniversary of Kristallnacht. 86 years ago my family’s synagogue & cemetery was desecrated by Nazi thugs and my grandfather, after being held at knife point by Hitler youth, fled Germany for Britain. Never has testimony been so important. Never again is now.
On #IndigenousVeteransDay, we recognize and honour the service and sacrifices of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis veterans who have shown steadfast commitment to our country as members of the @CanadianForces #CanadaRemembers
