I'm surveying institutional clients with the same question, seeing what X folks think: If the unemployment rate continues to rise, what level would trigger a sell-off in the S&P 500? If you retweet this I'll send you the institutional results too. #macro #hope
Can someone please explain to me in crayon how “inflation keeps going down,” but we continue to live in the most expensive timeline of our lifetime?
Analysis of averages produces average analysis. Notice that no example is even close to average. Context and standard deviation of the data are more relevant than averages. 🤓#macro #hope
👀 #Softilocks - softening growth and moderately easing inflation & rates. The bull case for equities in 2024. #Goldilocks (stronger growth and lower inflation) has been on vacation since 2019. Seems the market continues to battle back and forth between #Softilocks and…

Forecasters marked up the outlook for US GDP growth in 2024 to 2.1% in the latest monthly Bloomberg survey, from 1.5% last month, on strength in consumer and government spending bloomberg.com/news/articles/…
Aug 2000 and July 2007 - claims began moving higher. March 09, march 2003, March 2020 - eco activity broadly bottomed. Always need a catalyst to make stocks trade lower/higher, regardless of valuation. Valuation is a condition, not a catalyst for indices. #macro #hope
