On this day in 1973, #PeterMahovlich celebrated his birthday by scoring a goal and assisting on one by #GuyLafleur as the #MontrealCanadiens downed the #MinnesotaNorthStars 5-2. The four-time Stanley Cup winner went on to score 36 goals and finish with 73 points for the Habs.
Greer is 6'3, 209 pounds. He had 114 penalty minutes which was tied for 6th in the NHL and got in 7 fights. I think he's being brought in to help replace some toughness left behind by Milan Lucic.
The Calgary Flames have acquired AJ Greer via waivers from the Boston Bruins. Greer played in 61 games last season scoring 5 goals, 7 assists and 114 penalty minutes.
Nice acquisition for the #Canucks’ bottom-six. They finally get a right-shot centre who is physical, has pretty good counting stats and underlying metrics. Very good PKer who is capable of winning draws. Allvin, Rutherford & Tocchet know Lafferty from their Pittsburgh days.

Danny Briere liked the way Joel Farabee grew into a leader this summer. Farabee had guys like Tyson Foerster, Egor Zamula and Bobby Brink stay with him during parts of the summer. Farabee said guys did that for him when he was 19 and he wants to pay it forward.
