They asked me for advice on marriage and life. I told them just don’t become an energy investor and everything will work out fine

Are all "rotations" triggered by a short squeeze? I don't know the answer, but I would guess most likely. However, a sustained rotation needs more, I believe. Specifically, I think it requires investors to see real value on the value stocks. Is the latter happening? I'm not sure.
I get this question a lot. Equity volatility is our area of expertise, so I will focus on that. When looking for a tail risk hedge, the first thing to consider is whether you have any direct exposure to a single asset. For example, if your entire net worth is in $AAPL stock, you…
What’s the most utilized tail hedge? OOM calls on VVIX? Kris, I’m curious, what’s a way to play a sudden spike in vol in MOVE?

This is a great video. To me, it illustrates how buyer exhaustion is, or at least includes, running out of aggressive buyers combined with an influx of aggressive sellers, resulting in a notable shift in the delta and reversal in price, typically at the HOD.
I've started reading a "trading psychology" book that I recently came across, "Behavioural Technical Analysis An introduction to behavioural finance and its role in technical analysis" by Paul V. Azzopardi. It appears to apply Kahneman's theories to trading. Looks interesting.
As well, there is a gap (up) on the TSLA daily chart from 122.63 to 124.31 that was created on 1/13/23-1/19/23. This could act as a "magnet" for TA-loving gap fillers. We'll see.
I'm amazed at how some of the ideas presented in the book "Thinking, Fast and Slow" by Daniel Kahneman overlap with Stoicism and game theory and/or apply to day trading. Good stuff. Highly recommended book. Don't let the middle boring chapters stop you from finishing reading it.
It's amazing to me how $NVDA has respected a log scale (Modified Schiff) pitchfork since hitting a low in Oct 22. On Feb 21 it tagged the median line than gapped up ~$90. From a VP perspective, the air is getting thin since it broke out above $500 in January. What a run . . . .
The Rareverend is a true find among Substacks. Check out his work.
Praise be! Sometimes you see the writing on the wall before market open But we still can't keep a lid on 500 followers! 🤐 $ES $SPY $SPX

ES lost the Warning Line of the yellow Schiff #pitchfork on Wed, and crashed down the median line of a longer time frame white pitchfork. It's possible ES could go down to the white warning line at 4000ish.
Well @DoubleWideCap , I need another Substack subscription like I need a hole in my head, but because it's you, I couldn't resist. Throw me a bone with some good recipes in there, will ya.
I watch multiple #pitchfork s on different time frames. There is a bearish one that goes back to late July for which we are back at the Median Line. It could be one that is "in control". We are backtesting it now.
Well, $ES finally gave up the Median Line, blew through the Quartile Line, and then did a wicked bounce off of the Lower Trend Line, almost to (backtest?) the Quartile Line. #Pitchfork
