Why is Danny Rose dressed like he’s about to deliver bad news to Darth Vader?
Get him. Get Isak. Get Zubimendi. The vision is simple.
🚨 EXCL: Real Sociedad director of football Roberto Olabe to exit role in June 2025. Led #RealSociedad rise + player trading/development (Isak, Odegaard, Merino, Zubimendi etc). No job agreed but viewed among best around so will be in demand @TheAthleticFC nytimes.com/athletic/59192…
Usually I hate international breaks, but this one might be coming at a good time for us. We’ve been awful lately and I don’t just mean the football - the attitude has been miles off too. Today was a must win game and none of our players were treating it like a must win game.
What the fuck is Trossard playing at? Last kick of the game, Havertz was setting himself for a tap-in and Trossard swings a boot at it. Unbelievable lack of awareness to cost us 2 points.
Watch Odegaard in the build up to Martinelli’s goal. Involved in everything. His influence is exactly what we’ve been missing.
A marginal offside has robbed us of one of the all time great celebrations. Kai Havertz shushing Stamford Bridge was fucking superb.
Nobody is scared of Man City without Rodri. Every manager is happy to take risks and go for the kill. He’s a magnet for the ball and controls every game. Without him City are just a regular team.
Joao Pedro is such an intelligent footballer. I can see why we were reportedly watching him for so long before he joined Brighton. Massive talent, composure of the highest level and an incredible football brain.
Staggered by the amount of fans slating Merino. He hasn’t looked great so far, but he joined a new league and immediately picked up a nasty injury. By the time he returned we had several more injuries, meaning he’s trying to bed into a disjointed side. Shut up and give him time.
Ethan Nwaneri is 17 years old and he played with more bravery than anyone tonight. When I say bravery I don’t mean in challenges - I mean demanding the ball, running with the ball, shooting from distance, actually trying to make something happen other than cross, cross, cross.
I don’t know what we’re playing at going forward. We’ve had plenty of the ball in promising positions, but then everything seems to result in an inswinging cross towards Saka at the back post. What the fuck kind of tactic is that? All of their defenders tower over him…
Victor Gyokeres is the real deal. Bring him to the carpet.
The videos of Martin Odegaard returning to training are exactly what I needed today. Incredible news. Time to get our season back on track.
So it’s been confirmed Edu will join Marinakis’ football group and oversee the growth of all of his clubs. It sounds like he will get the CEO job he was touted for a few months ago. It’s a huge opportunity and will come with a massive pay rise, so can’t blame him for taking it.
People keep posting lists of players we supposedly ‘missed out on’ under Edu. There’s no evidence we were even interested in most of them, aside from tabloid/Twitter rumours. And most that we actually missed out on (Mudryk, Lisandro Martinez etc) were replaced by better players.
I have a feeling this is going to be the job that has tempted Edu. A position as CEO for an entire portfolio of clubs will come with a monumental salary, far greater than what he’s currently earning at Arsenal.
“Nottingham Forest, Olympiacos and Rio Ave owner Evangelos Marinakis wants to make Edu Gaspar the CEO of his portfolio of football clubs.” Well let me just be the first to say that Nottingham Forest, Olympiacos and Rio Ave owner Evangelos Marinakis can fuck right off.
