Pirates were not born into this life ; however, it is the life they’ll choose any day .
Im pregnant and the dad is @prettiestjewel
This is a picture from when we took over a vessel that refused to surrender.🤷♀️
Instead of hanging the black pirates they denied them in trials because it was more beneficial to sell them into slavery.
A large amount of our population was due to having Africans on board. Some black pirates were enslaved and ran away while others were free men.
We view certain social groups as our enemies, but somehow we always got support and materials from people at different levels of society.
We affirmed our unity by more than just having a strong sense of brotherhood but rather symbolically. Based off the way we speak and manners.
When we obtained the correct vessel we would draw up our own articles, elect a captain and constitute ourselves as a new crew. We would split sometimes due to having a conflict within an existing crew because of leadership and other reasons.
We plan on seizing other ships, which will ruin trade across the Atlantic.
How do you plan on rebeling?
How did we integrate newcomers on the ship? They had to sign the articles and taking an oath to "swear to stay true to the crew" and demonstrate their commitment.
One of our scare tactics we use to gain control over vessels is the Jolly Roger which basically symbolizes "surrender or die"🤷♀️
When we seized other ships, the workers on those ships can volunteer themselves to be pirates and those who don't we sink their vessels.
So what are you going to do about the sailors on the ships you capture?
By leaving working as sailors and forming our own government with other sailors who were tired of the harsh conditions.
I remember in 1722 Bartholomew Robert's crew executed two members because of desertion. Each man was allowed choose their own executioner and was tied up then shot. Execution was mostly invoked to punish the captain if he abused his authority❗️❗️
“Pirates put their own profane touches on these religious symbols “
Our ultimate method of maintaining order was execution. Which could be caused due to bringing company on board because it would cause the company to be in danger.
