Eek! Did you see the recent article on the GM Ringway in The Guardian? Chris Moss walked the 10-mile Stage 16 from Wigan to Leigh and gives an honest review of his experience. He even gave a glowing report of the 'idiot-proof' @gojauntly trail app! theguardian.com/travel/2024/no…

Hosting a walk of your own on the GM Ringway? Let us know and we can help promote it. Here's some of Lilasuri and her @WildAwakeMind team from their walks in Longford Park.

Saw one on Stage 2 of @GmRingway last week! Rooting around on the banks of the Mersey until I clomped along in the mud!

As acorns are in abundance there's a better chance for you to spot the surprisingly shy jay this autumn. With the bright blue flash on their wings these birds really are unmistakeable if you're lucky enough to see one. Find out more about them wildlifetrusts.org/wildlife-explo…

We're teaming up with @CitytoSea_ to highlight water refill stations along the GM Ringway! So that you don't always need to carry litres with you, or worry about running out, we're adding refill stations to our map. In the meantime, check out their app: citytosea.org.uk/campaign/refil…

Stage 2 follows the Mersey Valley greenbelt of South Manchester and includes some of the most attractive and varied areas of parkland in Manchester. As @mileswithshell found out! What's your favourite stage so far?

Chorlton Water Park, Poplar Avenue at Fletcher Moss, the river Mersey and sausages were all highlights of today’s walk along Stage 2 of the @GmRingway

There's a monster at Hollingworth Lake?! Kids have the chance to turn into detectives this half-term with a free interactive walking trail. The Sleuth & Stride trail follows a 3.7km route along the lake where they'll find evidence and discover the truth manchestereveningnews.co.uk/whats-on/famil…

Were you out this weekend? Here's some stage 15 highlights⬇️

@GmRingway yesterday was perfect weather for stage 15, and I enjoyed it. I know some places along the route, but had not visited Worthington lakes before, so thank you for introducing me to footpaths I had not previously trod!

Every stage is different! Stage 3 follows the pretty Ladybrook Valley that weaves through the suburbs of Stockport. Thanks to @caskexplorer for these wonderful pictures and the review.

Lovely walk from East Didsbury to Cheadle with the kids, along stage 3 of the @GmRingway Rewarded with a refreshing @StAustellBrew Tribute at Cheadle's White Hart.

Mud update for stage 14 ⬇️

@GmRingway stage 14 completed ✅ yesterday, in perfect weather for it. Mud in places easily stepped around on Winter Hill. Worst mud was near Blackrod train station. (I started in Barrow Bridge).

No carers were hurt in the tackling of these stepping stones! Manchester and Salford @RamblersGB led carers on our Sale Water Park circular this summer, giving them a break and some much needed wellbeing support ♥️ What a lovely thought. Thank you to the Rambling team!
