➡️The city plans to raise transit fares for seniors 120%, or $59 more on a monthly pass. This saves $2.042M. ➡️The transit levy is going up 8% ($37.645M). This will add $65.60 to my property tax bill, or $5.47/month. ➡️It would only cost me 30¢/month to keep the senior discount.

It’s all about affordability! The government isn’t considering the significance of giving $200 to all taxpayers. What does $200 really mean to someone earning $200,000 a year?

"Taxpayers have been clear they’re concerned about affordability. It’s time for politicians to focus on making choices that prioritize the needs of taxpayers. That means leaving more money in their pockets. And doing so quickly." My latest 👇 torontosun.com/opinion/column…

Our cross country ski trails are not salted or cleared of snow, yet people walk, bike, etc in the middle, why not just groom the bridge? @ottawacity

Ottawa does not close its roads to cars because of winter, it maintains them year round. Yet the city regularly closes stairs, takes away bike lanes, and closes active transportation bridges⬇️ People don’t stop in the winter, but our infrastructure does. ottawacitizen.com/news/chief-wil…

Will this dev. be “inclusive or segregated”? Segregated dev, have people with disabilities or those who need below-market rent in separate bldgs, areas, or communities, which reinforces isolation and limit their access to broader community interactions and opportunities. 😢👩🏽‍🦼

So far this year, #OttCity has helped 393 new affordable and supportive housing units get built, with another 1227 fully funded or under construction. Check out our latest story to see how creativity and teamwork makes these kinds of projects a reality: bit.ly/3Yv827r

Not to mention how much anxiety changes to transportation does to people with disabilities.

@OC_Transpo @catherinekitts @OttTransitRider Ottawa didn’t release the cost for repainting and covering up bus stop signs ahead of OC Transpo’s major route overhaul. This overhaul (costs) is aimed to address SERVICE REDUCTIONS and route adjustments due to budget constraints??

This should be the position of every politician.

My Conservative Party of BC government will not bend the knee to violent mobs. If you call for “death” and burn the Canadian flag — BC’s Conservatives will fight for your arrest or deportation. #bcpoli

Canada has no legal obligation to provide First Nations with clean water, lawyers say | CBC News ⁦@markhollandlib⁩ How can you say something so stupid! Do you have the right to polute the water on their land also! cbc.ca/news/indigenou…

epaper.ottawasun.com/@Gisele_Doyle/… Answer the question Pierre: Will @CPC_HQ keep providing free life diabetes drugs, and birth control (since you want to remove women’s rights to their own body)?

I’m with you Ray! Not only for inner cities, but suburbs, as you’ve heard me before. Keep up the fight!

2/ Unsurprisingly, pundits across the Trump far-right camp launched a flood of hate and ridicule against Gus and his emotional display. Witness these absolutely horrid posts by the likes of Ann Coulter and other right wing influencers.

Great news! Keep in mind that Orléans is also part of Ottawa. Many people with disabilities in Orléans desire independence and need affordable housing to be near work and extended family & support to maintain this independence. @JennaSudds @catherinekitts @mflalonde @CCOChousing

ottawa.ctvnews.ca/ottawa-landlor…. Pretty sad and disgusting. The one that did this will probably not read this, but what she is doing is giving low income earners a bad name!

Time to do it properly this time! Shops and mixed income high rise apartments on top! @ABetterOttawa @ottawacity @altavistaward18

Trainyards is a car-centric shopping complex on 110 acres, most is parking lots, close to 3LRT stations & ViaRail, + is 5km from parliament. Wasted opportunity to build a mixed-use dense neighbourhood instead of parking lots @cmckenney @ottawacity @laura_shantz @AltaVistaWard18
