As we celebrate the International Day of the Girl Child, GIBEH calls upon parents to be more intentional with their children. Many of these children go through the worst forms of abuse at the hands of their parents with no legal redress with much focus on how society will react.
The right to freedom against torture guaranteed under the constitution also applies to children. The rising violence against children by their parents is something that ought to be looked into and given special attention. We have seen many viral videos of these acts and it's sad.
