No one even tried to visit the Armenian hostages in Baku. Almost no one spoke up about it. Indigenous rights are human rights and that climate justice is for everyone, but when we actually ask NGOs and European politicians to speak up, they ignore us. What a disappointment.
Here’s the difference. “Western Azerbaijan” isn’t a thing, never was. Azerbaijan is barely a thing. Western Armenia, was part of the traditional homeland of the Armenian people for millennia, part of the Kingdom of Armenia, birthplace of our people, and recognized by treaties.
