As our state and region continue to experience extreme heat, be sure to listen to public safety authorities, look again, and keep your children safe!

It only takes minutes for a car to become dangerously hot. Remember, never leave kids in a parked car - their safety is always top priority!

It’s always great to see so many gifts for Clark’s Christmas Kids cover the halls of the State Capitol. Today, we packed them all up to send to Georgia’s foster children! Thank you to all our state partners and everyone who participated this year!

Marty and I spent time with the @atlchamber this morning to talk about the importance of public safety for our business community.   We must support our law enforcement as they protect the citizens of Georgia – it’s the right thing to do.

Working with state and local emergency responders, we will continue to provide assistance to those in the South and Southeast part of the state and ask that all Georgians join us in praying for their families. Stay safe as the storm continues to move through.

To ensure we are prepared to handle whatever #Idalia may bring, I have declared a State of Emergency and instructed state agencies to take proper precautions for its potential impact. Continue to monitor the storm and pay careful attention to updates from trusted news sources.

As we enter this holiday weekend, I encourage all Georgians traveling or spending time with their loved ones to be safe. Do NOT drink while driving or boating, and avoid speeding and other unsafe activities behind the wheel.

Today, DPS teamed up with Law @GaDNRLE, @gohsgeorgia, and local law enforcement agencies for the Belts and Jackets media tour, stressing the importance of staying safe during the upcoming Memorial Day holiday weekend. Have a safe holiday weekend. #gamccd #gacpd
