Today we presented our DHR Recommendations for Health and Adult Social Care @CommissionerDA Over 350 people attended the two seminars showing how important these are to supporting people involved in abusive relationships. See all four of our reports here: domesticabusecommissioner.uk/reports/

We value research-led teaching, all our research team also teach within the School of Nursing and Public Health. @DrKimHeyes is the unit lead for the MSc Pre-registration Nursing and Mental Health Nursing dissertation unit, supporting the next generation of health researchers.

Had a lovely day celebrating my nursing students who have now all received their registration! I'm so proud of all of these wonderful people. @StephenMarks12 @neilmmu and all the other amazing lecturers, we are so lucky to support these shining stars 🥰

The Domestic Homicide Review process is vital in understanding what opportunities were missed and how future deaths can be prevented. In this guest blog for #16DaysOfActivism @FMullaneAAFDA highlights how important families and friends are to this 👇 domesticabusecommissioner.uk/blogs/after-fa…

Vital changes to stop domestic abuse killings not being made, new report argues. Here is our own press briefing: mmu.ac.uk/news-and-event…

Far from blaming overstretched services, our research aims to highlight what we have learned from the DHRs and the recommendations posed in them. Khatidja puts this across live on Channel 4 news: channel4.com/news/domestic-…@GBVMcrMet @ManMetUni @mcrmetropolis

We have had a lot of interest in our reports so I am re- xing (?) them here. Please contact @GBVManMet with any general queries, but go through the ManMet media team for any appearance or quote requests. Prof. Khatidja Chantler will be on C4 news this evening. #DomesticAbuse

Thread: Here are the links to the reports on the Domestic Abuse Commissioner's website. There are four reports and each has a Summary paper and a Briefing paper. The areas of focus are Health, Criminal Justice, Children's Services and Adult Social Care. 1/5

Really proud to have been part of the team working on this vital research. Professor Khatidja Chantler, Dr Clare Gunby and Dr Vicky Baker are an amazing team to work with @GBVMcrMet @MarkHayter1 @ManMetUni

Thank you for giving us this opportunity @CommissionerDA This was a really difficult and interesting piece of research that highlights many flaws in the system for both victims and perpetrators of domestic violence. This will be the start of much needed change. #DomesticAbuse

I have such wonderful colleagues!

Yesterday the #VictimsBill returned to parliament with some key amendments. Firstly, I am delighted that govt is supporting my recommendation to require every commissioner in England to assess domestic abuse survivors' needs in their area. Thank you Minister Argar. 1/2

Today I publish new research which shows that the vast majority of victims and perpetrators were known to services before a domestic homicide. Any life lost to domestic homicide is a tragic failure by systems. We must do more to protect victims and prevent future deaths. (1/4)
