Changes of speed / rhythm - gaining advantage by controlling “Flow” on and off the ball are tactics to “outwit” your opponent - coaches can ‘Educate their player’s attention’ to these subtle cunning tactics to increase player’s effectiveness & enjoyment for a lifetime 🔥⚽️
Consider keeping perception & action in tact. “…task simplification should not be used to the point where the practice of the movement becomes unrepresentative of how it would be performed under actual performance contexts.” (Philip O’Callaghan) #TOVO
Life Lessons Say please/thank you Know what you don’t know Ask great questions Take great notes Never stop learning Do the work Be humble Read more No job too big; no job too small Your word is everything Be kind/respectful Serve others Seek wisdom from those who came before you
If you have a coach, teacher, parent, teammate or mentor who helps hold you accountable you are blessed. Good leaders do not shy away from confrontation. They live by a set of standards and have high expectations. Embrace those who expect the most of you and you will grow.
classic de zerbi football but it just feels too easy
"Are you going to let the little things slide or are you going to go do that extra little work to be great? Do you want to be great? Every day - be great. It’s not comparing yourself to anyone else, but maximizing what you are." -Andy Reid
Luis Enrique message to the coaches of the academies: ¨Concern about the development, not the results. All children should play in all positions. Prioritize the development of the child, not your own coaching career.¨😍 Follow me for more football videos with English subtitles!
"Your mistakes don't lose you games. Your response to mistakes, lose you games. We don't want reactions; we want responses." In sports and in life, your response-ability is your responsibility. Don't react (that's emotion) to mistakes. Respond (take action) to mistakes.
No one is 'built different', but some have used discipline, effort, & sacrifice to make themselves different. You want to be different: "get up earlier, stay later, ask questions, be a good person, care about others, stay humble, & work harder when no one's around" @LewisCaralla
Never forget the late developers Who may take a little longer to flourish Who may be a little smaller & quieter at certain ages Who has to try a bit harder than others But is a great listener And never misses training And loves being there Never forget the late developers
This is so good and needs to be heard by so many people “We are trying to skip the step of adversity, you can never skip that in life.” Those that didn’t have to grind to reach success have a tough time dealing w/ hardship (Via @MichaelWBratton 🎥)
My goal is that when they leave here, they're able to hold themselves to that standard of excellence and not settle for less than what they're capable of. That lives on forever because wherever they go in life, they can help others get there too. Kara Lawson on standards:
'Do 3 dollars work for a 2 dollar job' "This thing about grit is real. It is about competing. It is about pushing yourself. It is about striving to be at your best. Nobody else controls this but you. You have an opportunity to create your own value. Let's get a little gritty."
"What are your habits when things get tough? We practice to create habits that will make us successful in the most difficult situations." Make daily deposits in practice of effort, fortitude, & execution. Then, during the game, you're ready to make a 'withdrawal' when it counts.
5 REGRETS Players can Have: ▪️Not putting in the time ▪️Thinking the Grass is Greener elsewhere ▪️Not buying into TEAM ▪️Not accepting their ROLE ▪️Thinking coaches were out to get them Don’t live with regret. Do the work -> Appreciate your team -> Accept your role.
"The fight is won or lost far away from witnesses- behind the lines, in the gym, & out on the road, well before I dance under the lights."-Muhammad Ali Wins don't come on game day. Wins are created in practice with your daily habits & efforts. You don't find success-you earn it.
"Don't expect a pat on the back for merely doing your job, but know that you'll get one for doing it exceptionally well."-Lea Salonga Meeting expectations is the minimum requirement. Stop meeting expectations & expecting maximum results. To get more-to be more, you must do more.
This is the story every player will benefit from hearing If you have 2 minutes please 🙏 have a listen.
Are you prepared for competition? Are you prepared to be challenged? Are you prepared to be in an environment where you are not the best player and you need to get better? These are the questions coaches at the highest level are going to ask of you.
Last weekend we received an alarming increase in reports of refs, specifically young refs having to deal with adults confronting them during and after games, swearing aggressively, abusively and behaving in a threatening manner. We can’t allow this to continue, Enough is Enough.
