The week in classical: The Monster in the Maze; Yuja Wang and Víkingur Ólafsson; Rigoletto – review dlvr.it/TG593v
My new book on Sibelius’s symphonies and tone poems is out now. A chapter is devoted to each work, exploring their individual context, essence and interpretation, followed by a movement-by-movement guide to the music. (There is also an appendix section on recommended recordings.)

Spot on from @FionaMaddocks who puts her review of @WelshNatOpera’s ‘Il trittico’ in the context of the funding cuts that are causing so much damage. tinyurl.com/ykyp9mrb
