A Gaussian beam is directed toward a glass thin film, and the power spectrum is calculated at the detector points. The oscillations are due to the constructive and destructive interference of the different frequency components of the beam, and are related to the thin film width.

This experiment shows an index of refraction defect inside the photonic crystal slab. Similarly to electronic semiconductors, it produces the appearance of a new mode inside the band gap.

Transmittance and reflectance experiment with a photonic crystal slab, in which the power spectral density shows the band gap effect

In plane magnetic field (arrows), and perpendicular electric field (color map) of a Gaussian pulse inside an elliptical cavity with reflecting walls. The pulse starts at the left focus of the ellipse

Collection of 1D fractals (Hausdorff dimension), for this case, the dimension coincides with logN / log(1/D), and the last one is a limit

Has a new experiment just proven the quantum nature of gravity? bigthink.com/starts-with-a-… We haven't quite proven that gravity is quantum in nature, but experimentally revealing the gravitational Aharonov-Bohm effect is a really big deal.
