A reminder that the cost of completely abolishing tuition fees is less than the yearly cost of the triple lock of pensions. Worth remembering when ministers insist that young people must pay even more for the education their parents and grandparents got for free.

OK here's a rant about A level re-marks. My son had a below prediction score, so (because I was able to) I paid the £150 per paper re-mark charge. He went up by TEN marks and a whole grade. The fact that this option is only open to those that can afford it is totally unfair.
One day when we finally get proportional representation, I look forward to more Nicholas's in Westminster.

It was a pleasure recently to welcome Lord Wolfson @DXW_KC to speak about his career and the intersection between politics and the law at Exeter University Law Society @exeterlawsoc
Residents in Knowle West are demanding a former youth club reopens after the double murder of teenage boys Mason Rist and Max Dixon. They have been working together for 18 months to tackle knife crime in the area. It's time they were finally listened to bristolworld.com/news/residents…
The imitable and legendary Lord Phillips at Exeter’s @debsocexeter event: ‘This House Believes the Law is too lenient’ An icon of the justice system and the judiciary.
Delighted to say that i’ve been accepted into the @UniofExeter to study politics from September 2023! It’s been an absolute pleasure and a privilege to serve as Youth Mayor and a Youth Councillor for the last 2 years, and I’m looking forward to what the future holds
I had the pleasure of shadowing Donnchadh and he is magnificent. Congratulations and thoroughly well-deserved 👏
In London at the RCJ for work experience. It really is a stunning building 🤩
🎶 This is a real problem. The festivals and gigs that we all love can’t continue to operate on good faith forever. 🏢 @DCMS should be investigating the issue and offering significant support to this vital sector
This is a warning sign, not just for the musicians and the festivals, but the wider industry. With work increasingly low paid and volatile, we’re going to lose talent both on stage and off. Our cultural sector needs genuine support @lucyfrazermp theguardian.com/music/2023/jul…
I can’t quite believe it, My A-Levels are done ✅
Elated. What an incredible game and experience and salute to @LutonTown and everyone involved with the club.
Cutting public service funding to the bone is putting untenable pressure on public services. Stop blaming foreign students when they contribute an enormous amount to our economy and culture.
The significant rise in students bringing family members is putting untenable pressure on public services. Tightening the student route will help to cut migration by restricting post-graduate students from bringing dependents or using the route as a backdoor to work. 1/2
What an excellent initiative! Great work @AbiGbago 👏
We are pleased at @BristolCouncil to be partnering with @UWEBristol on our approach to support more care leavers to access higher education. Yesterday’s roundtable discussion hosted by UWE left me excited for what more we can achieve in the future.
📝 Last week, we signed the funding agreement for #Bristol @TempleQuarter 💰 The £95 million secured will unlock 10,000 new homes, 22,000 new jobs, and new station entrances and public spaces 🔗 bit.ly/43T82zQ
We met with the Mayor of Bristol @MarvinJRees He spoke about his youth, political career and policies he would like to enact such as those to tackle racial inequality. We presented a trophy on behalf of @nmdcouncil to the Youth Mayor @FelixYouthCllr 😀 #YouthCouncilCollaboration
