My vocal booth is poorly ventilated. It gets really hot. More importantly - don't fart in my vocal booth.
Extremely difficult directed session today. The kind that makes me question whether I even want to do this VA thing. This is why I hate doing characters that have an official VA. I'm not them and no amount of takes will make me them.
I don't get jealous when people announce all their amazing success. I get jealous when I hear how much time and energy people have available to pour into their craft. Where are you getting it all?!

Is it a breach of etiquette to ask an audio engineer what settings they're using to make your voice sparkle and shine? I understand how EQ works but can never seem to find the magic formula - or maybe I'm doing something else wrong?

I HATE that I have to ask certain project runners if they're going to use my voice to train AI or something. It's awkward and frustrating. Still... better than finding out later when you hear your voice saying things you didn't agree to, I suppose.
Artists: If someone commissions from you is it better that they have a very specific vision? OR do you prefer that they leave much more up to you as an artist to deliver your own vision?
