Stop building new stuff now and then. Instead: 1. Validate existing features 2. Burn down tech debt 3. Burn down bugs 4. Focus on perf

My code can’t be tidier than my thinking. The purpose of my tidying is to clarify my thinking by manipulating the code. The code ends up better, but because I understand more not because I somehow forced it to be better in spite of my confusion.

quotename: The sql function that I can never remember, but need to use a couple times a year.

I've been playing with lit-htm with parcel for a build tool. Smoking fast! Build, rendering, everything. I'm liking that.

Lots of interesting tidbits in here

In a very complex system, like our work environment, if we will change by even one degree (like shifting incentives) what seemed like loonshots, will have a real shot. whitneyjohnson.com/safi-bahcall/

Am I missing something? Does Google not support the much touted FIDO2 authentication? developers.google.com/identity/one-t… Sadness if it is true.

If # marks a private field in a JavaScript class (supported in Chrome 74). Does that make Google IO 2019 private?

This is an interesting release note from @coderush I probably won't make use of that feature.

I've been working in TypeScript recently. I'm struggling with how this is better than JavaScript. It feels like an attempt to make C# everywhere. #TypeAnnotationNoiseOverload

I've been working in TypeScript for a few days. Currying and Binding are a lot more difficult because you have to figure out how to annotate to satisfy the compiler.

I finally got around to watching the intro of React Hooks at ReactConf. Oh Wow! I'm thrilled.

youtube.com/watch?v=uCuTQY… YES! (You have to suffer through the first 20 minutes, but)

In SQL Server, you must create a type definition before you can pass a table variable as a parameter. They can only be passed read only. Learned something new today

AAAAANNNNDDD ..... yet another meeting where someone congratulates someone for being a hero ... instead of realizing that needing to have "heros" is actually a HUGE part of the problem.

I hate it when you write a test that should fail and it passes

New out of university, my hardware colleague would read app notes from data books. He was always able to come up with the best applications of components. My take away was that I should be reading header files (C/C++ days) Still true today. KNOW YOUR LIBRARIES

Okay, I'm totally out of the loop on this. I can see the relative similar level import of all the top items in this list except for "Chlorinated Chicken" What?

I used to internally scoff at the "one language for server and client" reasoning for Node. Mind you I like Node. But lately I've been switching between T-SQL, VB.Net, C#, and JavaScript multiple times a day... Not scoffing anymore. Maybe I'm just getting old
