Memory genes are enriched in CAR T cells that persist and control tumors in patients. But which transcription factors drive beneficial memory programs? We answer this in our lab’s first paper in @Nature led by @alexdoan96 @kpmueller1 @andy_yhchen 1/ nature.com/articles/s4158…

WELL-DESERVED KAT! BRAVO! 👏👩🏻‍🔬

I'm honored to share that I have been awarded an Irvington Postdoctoral Fellowship from @CancerResearch! This funding will support my ongoing CAR T cell therapy research with @EvanWeberPhD at @ChildrensPhila 1/

Happy to share our new work describing DESynR genes! The evolution of new human protein-coding genes relies on repurposing protein domains from ancestral genes, rather than de novo sequence creation. New genes evolved from old parts, and while we have methods that enable…

Cancer cells often harbor oncogenes outside chromosomes on extrachromosomal DNA (ecDNA), which is unevenly inherited by dividing cells. Today we report in @Nature that collectives of ecDNAs are inherited together by dividing cancer cells. 1/ nature.com/articles/s4158…

Our new study published today @Nature uncovers that Transgelin 2 preserves T cell lipid metabolism and anti-tumor activity. Transgelin 2 is silenced in dysfunctional TILs, and restoring its expression enhances CAR-T cell therapy in #OvarianCancer 👇nature.com/articles/s4158…

Check out our latest paper “Differentiation fate of a stem-like CD4 T cell control immunity to cancer”, led by @Maria_Carden1 now live @Nature tinyurl.com/33d24k89 . This work examines how CD4 T cell differentiation dictates the outcome of the cancer response. Thread below

It took me years to understand this principle. Curate the data to make your talk’s take-home message as clear as possible. Data quality > quantity

Half the work of preparing a science talk is deciding what you don’t say - to avoid distracting the audience.

Super cool study, congrats!

Thrilled to announce our latest publication in @ScienceMagazine describing a reverse-translation study that defines the core regulators of T cell stemness that can be exploited to improve immunotherapy! @TaeGunKang2 @StJudeResearch @SU2C @VAInstitute science.org/doi/10.1126/sc…

I am very pleased to announce the work I did as a graduate student in the labs of Crystal Mackall and Everett Meyer has been published in Nature Communications, open access! nature.com/articles/s4146…

Many thanks to @NIH_CommonFund @theNCI for this honor and @CHOP_Research @CHOPCancerCntr @PennMedicine for their continued support! We look forward to taking epigenetic reprogramming to the next level to improve CAR T cell fitness and efficacy.

Congrats to @ChildrensPhila's Dr. Evan Weber, recipient of the @NIHDirector's New Innovator Award! Dr. Weber will pursue a novel approach to reprogram T cells with enhanced tumor killing function, paving the way for more efficacious #cancer therapeutics. @CHOPCancerCntr
