Why should we be asking for permission to be free? 🥹🇩🇴✈️Happy, strong, anxious, and scared about this trip. Waiting for my Advanced Parole application approval to go back to my roots and my family after 24 years, so many mixed emotions; happiness, and anger #DACAISNOTENOUGH

“You were given this life because you are strong enough to live it.” #ProtectOurFutures #DACA
So good to get out today with thousands of our fellow New Yorkers to #ProtectOurFutures and march with @MaketheRoadNY and @Met_Council we are strongest when we stand together! immigrants will always be welcome and protected here #NYC #CitywideSolidarity
October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Join us this Saturday at Quisqueya Plaza for a Women’s Health Fair stating at 12pm. We will be hosting a self-defense class by @wearemalikah at 1pm. Join us for an empowering Saturday afternoon!
NYC's worst landlord, must face consequences for harming tenants, they deserve a say in their building's future! After Ohebshalom's neglect & abuse of power, it's time for tenant-led solutions. Prioritize their needs & demands in any negotiations. @nycpa @Met_Council
Tenants should never face harassment for standing up for their right to safe, affordable housing. We stood with tenants of Daniel Ohebshalom, who's topped our Worst Landlord Watchlist for years, and has now gone to jail twice for his refusal to make repairs. #WorstLandlordsNYC
This morning, tenants of 705 & 709 W 170th St held a press conference outside housing court, calling attention to years of neglect by Daniel Ohebshalom. With elected officials and advocates by their side, they demand tenant-centered ownership and full accountability.
We recently joined tenant organizers—with the littlest organizer on mic support—for a People’s Clean-Up of buildings owned by Daniel Ohebshalom. Days later, Ohebshalom was arrested, again. As the city deals with the worst of the #WorstLandlordsNYC, tenants must come first.
From the Public Advocate: "Daniel Ohebshalom is the worst landlord on my office’s watchlist for a reason. He has neglected his tenants, defied the law, and refused to do even the bare minimum to improve conditions or protect safety." gothamist.com/news/nycs-wors…
In light of Mayor Adams' indictment, I join a growing number of my colleagues in calling for his resignation. With the many issues facing our city, we need a leader who can provide stability, integrity, and focus.
The "People’s Clean-Up" starts with one building, but the power of tenants to hold bad landlords accountable is a citywide force. The Public Advocate joined @Met_Council and @wyldotco to demand better conditions. Review your landlord: watchlist.wyl.co #WorstLandlordsNYC
THE STRUGGLE IS REAL! Tenant neglect won't be tolerated. We organized, took action & now the landlord faces consequences. We'll keep fighting alongside tenants at 705 & 709 against neglect until they have a healthy, safe home! ✊🗣️ @Met_Council
NYC’s ‘worst landlord’ is back in jail for 2nd time this year buff.ly/3N1zoN4
ORGANIZED & UNITED! We stood with tenants for a clean-up & demanded change. Landlord's neglect led to 2nd jail term for violations! Tenants deserve dignity & safety! @Met_Council
Late for class, exposed to danger. Fordham H.S students face unacceptable risks. NYC, rethink your priorities! Millions for luxury initiatives, not enough for school safety? 1 metal detector for hundreds? What are we doing about this? @OswaldFeliz @PiSanchezNYC @NYCSchools
The power of community! Tenants can now wake up to a clean building. Let's keep fighting for affordable, dignified housing for all. ❤️✊
I joined the tenants of 705 & 709 W. 170th St. in a community cleanup, a powerful stand against years of neglect by NYC’s #1 worst landlord, Daniel Ohebshalom. His disregard for human dignity fuels our fight for accountability, tenant rights, and justice. We will not back down.
We are proud of the resilience and determination of our tenants and continue to work alongside them as they hold the city’s Worst Landlord accountable. Let’s give the tenants ownership of the properties they’ve cared for!
Community victory! Tenants can finally wake up to a clean building, thanks to collective action and determination. ✊ Thank you @CnDelarosa for your support! @Met_Council
The tenants of 705 & 709 deserve justice and a dignified place to live. Tenants have already done the work themselves to keep their homes clean and safe — this clean-up is a manifestation of their communal commitment to change.
