Today, as part of @UNWomen #GenerationEquality Forum, we are committing to the @WebFoundation’s framework to end online gender-based violence. This follows a year-long consultative process, working alongside NGOs who graciously shared their experiences and suggestions with us.

This letter is a global milestone for campaigners in this space for years! After almost 20 years of tech platforms evolving without prioritising the safety of women. We finally have acknowledgement but there's a lot more work to do to end online abuse @GlitchUK_

I spoke to @HackneyAbbott & @seyiakiwowo, two of over 200 prominent women who signed an open letter by @webfoundation addressed to @Google, @Twitter, @Facebook & @tiktok_uk who all pledged today they would do more to tackle online harassment against women. nytimes.com/2021/07/01/wor…

In announcing this pledge today, I not only congratulated the companies, but also thanked our partners, our #GenerationEquality network, our donors and two awesome colleagues: @snazzyazzy and @helaeve ! This, is for everyone

Four tech companies have pledged to tackle abuse against women on their platforms. While these promises are a positive step forward, now they must take concrete measures to make the Internet safer for women — and for all of us. webfdn.org/SaferInternetL… #GenerationEquality
