My reading this morning was Peter’s 2nd letter. I love so many verses but this one particularly moved me. “For we did not follow cleverly contrived myths when we made known to you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ; instead, we were eyewitnesses of his majesty.”
Well, yeah, we could just keep on blaming, accusing & sparring about the way things are & feel smug & self righteous or we could put that energy into praying for God to work gloriously in our day. Truly, if we complain more than we pray, all we have is our own unbelief to blame.
“Love the Lord your God, obey him, and remain faithful to him. For he is your life...” Deut 30:20 “When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.” Col 3:4 He is our whole life.
Listen, when you submit your will to the Father it is not extinguished; it is simply surrendered. It becomes clay in the Potter’s hand -pliant & moldable-the raw material for His most stunning masterpieces. So don’t be afraid to let Him be Lord. Wave the white flag & let go 🙏🏽
If God allowed a perfect man to suffer terribly, why should we think that something like that could never happen to us?
Walking in freedom is a daily decision. Make no mistake, the Enemy will always try to drag you back into the bondage of guilt, shame and condemnation. If you are in Christ, you have been set free.
It's very important for us to teach the Bible and not our own ideas. Teachers, avoid the temptation to draw the listener into your way of thinking. Instead always lead them to the heart and mind of God.
Jesus sure is making sure we’re in it for Him. Chaos can be clarifying. Don’t walk away from the faith because of jerks. Jesus isn’t a jerk. This is such a good time to go back & read 1 of the 4 Gospels. Watch Him on those sacred pages. Remember once again why you’re a Christian.
Been reading through I Timothy lately & there's a lot in there about fighting the good fight & contending for the faith. Interestingly, tho, the primary threat seems to be... yourself.
Came to one of the most gorgeous sections of Scripture in the book of Isaiah. The prophecy comes like a feast in the wilderness to a starving, staggering people because it is preceded by such words of judgment to rebellious nations. I’m just going to read it to you. Is 25:6-10...
