My Mum died last Sunday after over a year of being denied meaningful access to family and friends. I broke the rules to take off ppe and hold her on my arms as she died. We need to do better. We will all grow old. We have failed. @RishiSunak @Helen_Whately @BorisJohnson

12 years ago today, the federal minimum wage was raised to $7.25. It hasn’t gone up a dime since then. Meanwhile, the cost of living has exploded. $7.25 wasn’t enough in 2009. And it damn sure isn’t enough in 2021. Workers can’t afford to wait another 12 years. #RaiseTheWage

It's made even more difficult if the woman's service gets infiltrated by drug barons, as what happened to me. I didn't feel safe in the hostel because of the men coming in at night, I had to barricade myself and my daughter into our room because the lock on our door was broken.
