Whenever I've felt low in self-confidence I think back to something an OT told me on my 1st placement. She said you don't need to be loud and extroverted to be a great OT - you just need to be able to communicate when you need to. It's so true! #OccupationalTherapy

Survived my first two weeks as a Band 6 specialist occupational therapist! Also set to have another student next week. Bring it on 💪🏻💚 #LDOT

Today was very surreal. I'm now a qualified paraglider club pilot 🪂 time to spread my wings at last! #paraglidingOT

Incredibly pleased to share that I've accepted my first role as a Band 6 Occupational Therapist, working in my current Specialist Learning Disability Community Team. Specialising in LD has been my dream from the very beginning @DPT_NHS 💚

Opportunity to join our wonderful team for anyone interested in working with people who have a learning disability 🤗💚

This is a rare and exciting opportunity for two newly qualified or experienced #OccupationalTherapists to join the #Devon Specialist Health Community #LearningDisability Service working with adults in North or South West Devon: orlo.uk/HgyGB @OTPlymouthUni @UWEBristol

My flying instructor was able to help two quadriplegic individuals enjoy the skies recently using this specialist wheelchair. Accessibility at its finest 🙌🏻🪂 #OTapproves

Wheels up! Our new handivol paragliding wheelchair finally got into the sky today 🎉🎉🧑‍🦽🪂

Lovely goodies from my student after passing her placement. Had such lovely feedback, and she even expressed an interest in working in LD when she qualifies. It feels great making a difference 💚 now for a well earned week's leave!

Successful presentation day for @asi_wise module 1. Safe to say the brain is immensely complex. Such fascinating stuff, learnt so much 🤗🧠

Not me going to the Bristol Light Festival thinking just what a great sensory experience this is 🤣🫧✨

Well that was a very full-on first two days of @asi_wise sensory integration training. Time for some self-care and rest. Looking forward to learning more 🧠 #neurology #sensoryintegration #OT

Does anyone else think that they're so lucky to have found occupational therapy? Like it was your calling, and you can't imagine life without it. Going to work doesn't feel like it's a job, it's where I belong 💚

Call for help! Does anyone working in LD have a dementia memory clinic service that's using an alternative functional OT assessment to the AMPS now that the software & training are no longer available? Please RT. @RCOT_PLD @theRCOT

52) That's a wrap: I hope you enjoyed my weekly motivational posts. It really challenged me to reflect on the past few years; the ups and downs, the fear and joy. My last message is.. be the best version of yourself. You can't ever go wrong ✨ #mondaymOTivation

51) Celebrate: You're doing the job you love, in the place you call home, and you're so amazing at it! #mondaymOTivation

50) Think: Nobody will blame you if you don't have the answer now. Take time to think things through, and use your colleagues to guide you. It will all be worth it. #mondaymOTivation

49) Confidence pt3: Glimmer - Whenever self-doubt tries to get the better of me, I think of the moment when a supervisor told me I'd make a phenomenon OT, or when a colleague was blown away by my assessment writing. Find your glimmers. #mondaymOTivation

48) Educator: One of the scariest things of my career has been supporting a student for the first time. When the time comes, try to do it jointly with a colleague. Although it's a chance to pass on your skills, it may surprise you what you learn from them. #mondaymOTivation

47) Exhale: In life and work, we come across tricky situations where we just want to shout, or curl up in a ball. Take the time you need. You'll be okay. #mondaymOTivation
