BREAKING: @TheGreenParty MPs have written to @DavidLammy on the UK government's position on the risk of genocide in Gaza. In the letter the MPs highlight the obligation to prevent, and duty to act, where there is a plausible and serious risk of genocide.

Take a moment to think about this. 2.7C rise will have unthinkable impacts. We are like the proverbial frogs in the warming saucepan. How loud does the #climateemergency alarm need to ring before we all recognise the urgency of action? theguardian.com/environment/li…

Ongoing climate chaos in Spain must be call to action. Worldwide, people on frontline of emergency are being let down. We need leaders at #COP29 to deliver on keeping fossil fuels in ground, integrating climate in every policy decision & on climate justice theguardian.com/world/2024/nov…

Today in Parliament I echoed the call of the @NFFNUK for more investment in nature-friendly farming. The @DefraGovUK minister’s response was deeply disappointing: no content, and a gratuitous and unjustified insult to boot. It’s time for govt to do better.

There should be a ban on planted questions at PMQs. End of.

I am grateful to Aphra Brandreth for securing a debate on mental health in farming communities yesterday. Organisations like the brilliant Herefordshire charity @WeFarmingMinds play a important role in supporting the local farming community.

I’ve been bobbing for 4 hours to speak on behalf of my constituents in the debate on rural affairs. I was on the speaking list. But I’ve not been called, and now the debate is winding up. Third time this has happened. This deeply uneven debate time undermines our Parliament.

I was honoured to lay a wreath at Ledbury War Memorial on Remembrance Sunday yesterday, and another this morning in London at Paddington, accompanied by cadets from Herefordshire, before observing a poignant minute of silence at the Cenotaph. Lest we forget.

This is so deeply sobering. The charts in this article say it all. This year the world will breach the 1.5C ceiling. Literally crashing and burning. The consequences of inaction will be catastrophic. This should be a wake up call to every politician. bbc.com/news/articles/…

And now begins the most pointless & inefficient several hours of the parliamentary week, as MPs start voting (aka walking round in v slow circles) on ten motions, mainly insisted on by the Conservatives. Sigh. This is no way to run a country. Electronic voting is long overdue.

I reacted to the US election on @bbc5live It is a dark day and we are right to be worried about what the presidency of a climate denialist and loose cannon will mean for the US, the UK, and the world. The strongest reminder of why we must work together against polarisation.

Good question from @CatherineFookes at PMQs re the River Wye. But @Keir_Starmer’s answer shows he doesn’t understand that agriculture in the key issue in the Wye catchment - both problem and solution.
