The letter from a patient I never knew I needed. It really made my day & serves as a little reminder that even the most junior person on a big medical/surgical team can positively impact. Every single patient matters & Every staff member has power to positively impact

GPs around the country are helping over 230,000 people with chronic diseases to avoid hospitals and stay well at home through the @HSElive chronic disease management programme.

Dr. Orlaith O Reilly writes about providing care as close to home as possible within the structured chronic disease management programme in the @Independent_ie today. Follow the link to read more: bit.ly/3FWs2Ip #ChronicDisease2022

If your baby or child has a temperature - PLEASE give them paracetamol. Don’t wait to see the doctor “as we wanted you to see the true picture” Seeing babies who have had their ibuprofen & paracetamol with temp dropped as a result is a GOOD finding

Before they shut this down let me take this opportunity to remind women that you absolutely do not need to take a 7 day break from the pill (it’s an ineffective way to take it) & if you are you should book a contraception consultation with your GP!

That’s a wrap folks! Another Friday Night Cricket program comes to an end for 2022 🏏 … 480 girls and boys (jnr infants to 2nd class) signed up this summer. Question? … can we even turn 10% of these into cricketers of the future and retain them in the sport to adulthood??? 🤔

Just to reiterate, doctors who are going to work in our hospitals this weekend, seeing you, your relatives etc are, in some hospitals not being paid. Total incomplete & accepted incompetence. A cost of living crisis is even harder when you’re not being paid.

Phew ! Cuz we’re going to Connemara again

A friend said to me recently that taking children abroad on hols is a waste of time and money, as under 12’s don’t remember such trips 😳 And to think that I thought that we were making memories 😂
