The words that describe those who gave body & soul in the service of their nation are powerful in any language: courage; valour; honour; sacrifice. Inspired by a legacy of unspeakable bravery, it was the privilege & honour of a lifetime to be part of the proudest of professions.

A bit of background. The Quint is a real alliance, albeit an informal one. Made up of five of the seven countries that compose the G7, it's been around for a couple of decades in its present form. It has roots that stretch back even further. That's why Canada and Japan, the…

We didn’t get invited to join our allies to discuss support for Israel. Canada was not on the phone call, Canada was not part of the joint statement despite having one of the largest Jewish populations in the world. Why? Our allies don’t take us seriously. torontosun.com/opinion/column…

However legitimate a cause may or may not be, the taking of innocent civilians as hostages in support of that cause is despicable, and deserves universal condemnation. No ifs, no buts. It's a war crime. End of story.

Agreed. This argument going on in Ottawa over who does what and who reports to whom when it comes to providing security in Parliament, suggests to me that's one of the first things that needs to be fixed and made clear so that everyone understands the process and the rules.

Regardless of protocol, if I were the leader of a country planning to host, in parliament, the leader of a country at war with Russia…I would make it my business to know the background of every person invited to sit in the gallery that evening.

The observation I have about his apologies is this: contrite and even tearful about things that happened 200 years ago, over which no, living person had any control; arrogant, obnoxious, petulant and defiant for recent things, for which, he is clearly and completely responsible.

One of the best threads on the employment of armour - and tanks - in #Ukraine since the beginning of the war. If the most experienced, and best, army in the world at the moment (that’s Ukraine) thinks they have utility, we should be listening.

Let's talk about tanks. Specifically, why they will help Ukraine now and why rumors of their "death" were greatly exaggerated. [THREAD]

Lavrov: Ukraine must demilitarize or the Russian military will solve the issue. Apparently, “solve the issue” means “get your ass kicked for 11 months straight” in Russian. 🤷‍♂️
