The real impact of the Autumn Statement.
The single most important chart abt today's Autumn Statement didn't appear in any of the documentation from @hmtreasury or @OBR_UK But I've put it together myself. It shows household disposable income growth: how much better or worse-off we're getting. And two things leap out...
And there you have it, what today's announcement was actually all about. Barratt Developments' share price up 3.43% this morning company now valued at £4.34bn and Taylor Wimpey up 2.88% company valued at £3.97bn. That's what happens when you get rid of environment regulations.
Great spot from Jasper Jolly- housebuilders have now risen to the top of the FTSE100 following the announcement they no longer have to pay for the pollution they cause theguardian.com/business/live/…
Bonheheaded rate rise by BOE – they know not what they do – David Blanchflower with his thoughts on today’s decision by the Bank of a England - in his own style sites.dartmouth.edu/blanchflower/2…
This is a genuine Leave campaign video from the 2016 referendum. Notice how absolutely none of the claims it makes have since come true. In fact they provide a useful shopping list of things that have been made worse by Brexit. twitter.com/scotfoodjames/…
#OTD 1951. Death of Ernest Bevin. Prime Minister Clement Attlee leads the tributes: ‘The country has lost in him a great statesman and the Labour movement a leader of whom it was proud’ How the world – from Churchill to Truman - responded 👇🏼
“If they really are refugees, why don’t they have to stay in the first safe country they reach?” “Why don’t they just claim asylum in France?” Here is my answer, once & for all. To Jonathan Gullis, and to everyone else who ever wondered. #RefugeesWelcome
"Hard is soft. Soft is hard." —@tom_peters "The terms ‘hard facts’ and ‘the soft stuff’ used in business imply that data are somehow real and strong while emotions are weak and less important.” —@gkohlrieser
For too long, the essence of what makes us human—our empathy, values, and emotions—have been dismissed as “soft" skills and relegated to the sidelines. Yet these capacities drive everything: culture, engagement, leadership, innovation, collaboration.
When’s this happening guys?
I couldn’t possibly comment

Spot on
interesting exchange with Alastair Campbell and Ben Brown on BBC News - "craven political cowardice at the top of the BBC", "don't be a bystander"
Absolutely
The BBC has this carved onto its own wall, right outside the front door. And yet...
The BBC is censoring Gary Linekar and David Attenborough for fear a tweet and programme about rewilding undermines their impartiality, but standing by a Chair who parliament itself has said hasn't told them the whole truth about his loans to Boris. Funny old world isn't it..
Yep
Heed The Bin
Dear BBC, a gentle reminder that this is written on the side of your fucking headquarters. If I were you, I’d be sacking the chairman who withheld the truth, NOT the presenter who told it.
