I am thrilled to share that my recent law review article on the failings of parens patriae is out in the @LUCLawJournal! Thank you so much to the student editors for their hard work & guidance. #CareNotControl …chicago-law-journal.scholasticahq.com/article/84883-…
✨💜🍒 WE WON 🍒💜✨ Initiative 83 has won the election, and has been approved! DC voters have spoken, and they've said YES to - 🍒 letting independents vote in DC's primary elections and 🍒 implementing Ranked Choice Voting, which will allow us all to hold politicians…
I'm a former ANC, former DC Democratic State Committee elected committeeman, and the current chair of the Ward 3 Democrats. I am proudly voting for Initiative 83 tomorrow. I hope you'll join me in doing so, too.
Now's our time to hold politicians more accountable! Learn more at yeson83.org
Healing trauma & breaking cycle of violence is central to all at Peace4DC. Thru #CognitiveBehavioralInterventions, like @RocaInc’s Rewire CBT, we empower individuals w/skills to ease PTSD & other symptoms of past trauma & build resiliency & protection in the face of future trauma
It just hit me: there are *TWO* reporters left at @wamu885, a station that covers a metropolitan area of 6 million people. That’s one-tenth the size the newsroom was two years ago, and the smallest it has been in two decades.
It truly is incredible how fast & far the agency has regressed. washingtonpost.com/dc-md-va/2024/…
MYJC is one of the 118 signatories calling for youth justice approaches that improve community safety AND achieves better outcomes for our kids. We must commit to research-backed, equitable, community-centered approaches and reject outdated "tough" on kids policies. #CareNotCages
Thrilled to share my latest article, Pathways to Eviction, co-authored with Justin Steil and published in @LSI_Journal Available here: doi.org/10.1017/lsi.20… 1/6
NEW YORK (AP) — CDC reports teen smoking and other tobacco use dropped to lowest level in 25 years.
The Everyday Counts Task Force officially relaunched today at our citywide summit. Thank you @DMEforDC for organizing and to the student, educator, and research panelists for such great insights. It was great to see my former Cap City student on the panel. Some takeaways:

In the midst of my birthday celebrations yesterday, I was made aware that my name had been included on an anti I-83 mailer that was distributed by DC Dems. I want to clarify that I'm a strong supporter of /surrogate for I-83 (ranked choice voting and letting independents vote)
Here's the anti-83 mailer in question from the DC Democrats. It lists all the officers of each ward's party committee, even though many are actually I-83 supporters. I'm hearing this has really riled up many DC Dems. Tensions have run high on this before: washingtoncitypaper.com/article/630104…
Did I know a mailer was going out with my name on it? No. Did I approve my name on this mailer? No. Am I against I-83? No.
My name was recently put on a mailer by @DCDemocrats suggesting I do not support #Initiative83. I fully support @AllVotesCountDC as I believe a candidate should get more than 30% of the vote to win. Having ranked choice voting allows that. makeallvotescountdc.org
I am a proud DC Democratic voter who enthusiastically supports Initiative 83! Vote Yes, to approve I-83 on or before November 5! #RCVinDC
Our kids need as many unconditionally caring adults in their corners as possible. Thank you to @RobertWhite_DC for recognizing that when kids feel loved & when kids thrive, the District is safer. Let's make sure every child in DC has a positive mentor.
Today the #HousingCommittee is holding a hearing on my bill to help young people stay on the right path by connecting w/#Mentors. 💻Tune in live to hear agency leadership & residents share feedback on my Youth #Mentorship Through Community Engagement Act: youtube.com/watch?v=HRIG6g…
DC Council considers a proposal that would create a massive mentorship program for at-risk youth. For the bill’s sponsor @CMRobertWhiteDC , the goal is personal. 👇🏼 Full story 👇🏼@wusa9 wusa9.com/article/news/l…
