We recently closed an investigation into a sawmill project in 🇭🇷 uncovering that the 'new' sawing line was never functionnal and the modernised IT system never operational: €4 million cohesion funds allocated to the project recommendated for recovery.
Last year, we took part in @WCO_OMD Op. DEMETER IX tackling trafficking of waste, ozone-depleting substances & potent greenhouse gases. OLAF identified, monitored and provided real-time information on suspicious shipments while supporting cross-border investigations. Results👇
In 2023, we completed an investigation regarding favoritism towards an external service provider and a conflict of interest involving an EU staff member. OLAF recommended that the EU Institution concerned initiate disciplinary proceedings against the staff member. Details ⤵️
