We are using organoid-based disease models to discover new chemical tool compounds to study metabolism in cancer and the gut. These "mini-organs" closely resemble the human organ/disease and allow us to study the disease-relevant chemical space. 1/2

Using Mini-Organs to Study Disease: A warm welcome to Ana Ivonne Vazquez-Armendariz and @EReckzeh, new Argelander Professors in Organoid Biology. #TRALife&Health @LIMES_Bonn #Transdisciplinarity Read more: uni-bonn.de/en/news/099-20…

🔬Paper alert!🔬We used our next-gen CRISPR tool pipeline to rapidly model 7 common FBXW7 mutations in colon organoids and show their effect on the EGFR pathway. Great collaborative effort with Matteo Boretto, @sha_gandhi & @HansClevers, @TheCleversLab pnas.org/doi/10.1073/pn…

Researchers from the Organoid group have found a new link between a commonly mutated gene in colon cancer, FBXW7, and EGFR signaling. Read more here: hubrecht.eu/fbxw7-egfr/ @geurts_maarten @HansClevers @sha_gandhi @TheCleversLab

True words @HadeerElhabashy#LINO23 reacted immediately and created room for deep discussions and exchange. Thank you #LINO23

Nevertheless, this incident sparked lots of positive discussions and exchange about diversity between the young scientists during #LINO23 science.org/content/articl…
