SELECT-GCA Trial results show UPA 15 mg + 26-week GC taper leads to 46% sustained remission vs. 29% with placebo + 52-week taper (P=.0019). UPA15 reduced GC use (median 1615mg vs. 2882mg, P<.0001) and improved fatigue scores. Key finding: UPA15 combined with a 26-week GC…

💊 The TAPIR Trial (Assessment of Prednisone In Remission) tackles the big question in GPA care: Does low-dose glucocorticoid (GC) maintenance (5 mg/day) prevent relapse better than stopping GC entirely (0 mg/day)? @DrPeterMerkel #ACRAmbassador #ACR24

Its all good data until your patient experiences diarrhoea. This is least considered while universally advocating colchicine!

❓hsCRP or LDL? Better CV risk marker?🤔 🌟Wonderful session on CV risk and role of #Colchicine 🌟Data says: ✅ ⬆️hsCRP has more CV risk than LDL ✅ If hsCRP <2 mg/L, risk same even if LDL >70 mg/dL Also, ❓Are you using Colchicine enough in your practice? #ACR24 #ACRambassador

The TAPIR Trial on GPA shows higher (15.5%) relapse in the 0 mg prednisone arm vs. 4.2% in the 5 mg arm (OR 4.22), but does not impact PROs. Key finding: benefit of 5 mg/day seen only in non-rituximab regimens (20% vs. 2.6%, OR 9.50). Abstr#0774 Plenary 1 @RheumNow #ACR24
