We had a fantastic time at @icep2023 last week in Aarhus, Denmark in which many of the team presented their research and opened up discussions surrounding public engagement with climate change 🌍 We hope to see you again next year! 🇩🇰 #ICEP2023 #EnvironmentalPsychology

Very encouraging how environmental psychology is evolving - broader perspectives, critical reflection on power & our own biases, lots on activism and (yes, it's true) much more attention to how we can understand and speak to system change @icep2023

Great to see so much interest in critical approaches (especially ECRs). Clearly researchers notice inadequacy of the reductionist models currently used un tackling #climatecrisis #sustainability #theoryofchange #envpsy @icep2023

It was fantastic to present our @CAST_Centre visioning workshops in a packed room and as part of a symposium on critical environmental psychology at the #icep2023 w/ brilliant contributions by @Ana_Sabherwal @AnnaBosshard @Kuhn__Sascha @fdabl @icep2023

Things began to look very unusual two months ago. Today the charts need no commentary, they speak for themselves. This is the Atlantic. twitter.com/DrTELS/status/…

This is so unusual. That's a *huge* amount of energy being transferred to the atmosphere. Expect extreme temperature and storm records. Just the top few metres of our oceans store as much energy as the entirety of our atmosphere. I'm very concerned for later this year into 2024.

On individual action: "We are the ultimate consumers. We need to be enabled by Governments, but action is required at all levels - Governments, communities, individuals. We are beyond the point where climate change is someone else's problem. It's your problem."

If all our students submit their work using ChatGPT (and other AI apps), while we (as faculty) use automatic assessment marking, does that mean we can all just go outside and play, learn and create like we're supposed to in higher education, and let the machines fight it out?

Great news just before the holiday break: @UniUtrecht bans all professional flights for employees on distances of less than 700 kilometers. A good start - more is obviously needed to reach our goal of a carbon-neutral university within 8 yrs. Source: dub.uu.nl/en/news/going-…
