Development isn’t putting a kid on a roster and depriving them of the resources needed to actually get better. It’s deploying your system of player development across everybody on the roster universally.
Listening to the latest @DrivelineYouth pod and really stoked for the young man who just popped 90 mph on the mound after starting out on their B or developmental team. They addressed this a little bit, but it highlights the unfortunate paradox of (most) youth baseball.

If you listen to this tweet closely you'll hear the explanation for why pitching success in youth baseball can be wildly irrelevant toward 90' success.
It isn't always super clear why acceleration should be used instead of inches of break when looking at MLB data, but it becomes abundantly clear when you scale to lower levels It doesn't take that much az on a FF to reach 20 IVB when you throw 60... over 90 is a different story
