Most fun I have had in my career, stewarding this alongside a community that I believe in & care deeply about! Thank you to all the teams that helped get @Commit_Boost to this milestone. If you are not involved, reach out! Grants, testing, feedback, and countless other things!
1/ We are excited to share that Commit-Boost is headed towards audit and production! As an open-source, public good, this could not have been possible without many teams across the Ethereum Community. Thank you for all your time and effort! See below 👇
The Ethereum community behind @Commit_Boost keeps growing. Highlighting a few efforts: - Grants from multiple organizations - Repo contributions from 10+ teams - Testing from 15+ teams - Teams running in prod - Feedback from researchers + client teams Much more coming ... 😎
Still the best EILI5 on @Commit_Boost Commit-Boost: A new sidecar that validators run. Commit-Boost is not a protocol, rather, it allows validators to run one sidecar but access multiple protocols including preconfs, inclusion lists, and the PBS pipeline (to name a few).
1/ Based on feedback from across the Ethereum community, we drafted a short, less technical document on Commit-Boost. Post and thread below! twisty-wednesday-4be.notion.site/Commit-Boost-R…
Posting this again - I think it's important that we retain "solo staker" as the definition of a node operator who validates without anything between them and the Beacon Chain contract. It is the most "solo" way of staking In contrast, "independent operators" can look like a lot…
😎
Operative word is "can" - L2s don't have to be efficient at the cost of being fragile. Based rollups that make conservative tradeoffs are built for hard times too and can inherit almost all of the L1's benefits.
in the "two lane" design of blocks, where non-contentious flow is settled using precommits and contentious flow is settled just in time, I could see a state of ethereum where blobs settle extremely fast, and L1 MEV settles once per epoch I actually think this is great
I double emphasize this: ePBS allows your preconf protocol to slash both the proposer **and** the builder, for not honoring a preconf. You can do this trustlessly. Talk to me if you need help implementing this
On this design I believe preconf teams should embrace ePBS since it allows them to trivially implement this by whitelisting preconf builders (=relays) and slashing them in-protocol if they don't, so users know in advance of the slot that their preconf is good
Really proud of our team's work over the last year to make Firewall a reality. This is the next frontier of Web3 security and we're excited to work with the Ethereum community to make this an industry standard.
EXCLUSIVE: A16z-backed Forta launches Firewall to help prevent smart contract exploits theblock.co/post/327244/a1…
Commit-Boost is fully open-source, with no monetization, no venture backing, for all stakers, and for all to build on. We are looking to return autonomy to Ethereum's decentralized validator set.
Commit-Boost: - Return autonomy to Ethereum's decentralized validator set - Built by countless teams and individuals across Ethereum, for Ethereum - No monetization, token, or venture backing - For all stakers and all to build on - Fully open source with MIT + Apache 2 licenses
Threadinnng from @LogarithmicRex is back!
(1/24) @ethereum 101: Gas Just like the IRL liquid it shares a name with, gas is the fuel that makes the World Computer run. But what really is gas? How does it help regulate computational resources? What are you paying for with every transaction? Ethereum's energy, explained.
(1/10) What does "state" mean in Computer Science and Blockchain? A high-level explainer to one of the most important concepts in building and understanding blockchain technology.
The last few weeks were serendipitous. From repelling into caves, to landing the first inclusion preconf on mainnet alongside 10+ other teams, to meeting hundreds of people across Ethereum; the future is clearly bright. Now back to shipping. 😎
Thanks for the hard work!
1/ bolt • first based mainnet preconf The first preconf landed on mainnet and we wanted to highlight how and where bolt contributed! Congrats to the engineers who grinded behind the scenes to make this possible - they deserve immense credit: @merklefruit @thedevbirb…
First based preconfs on mainnet! 🕶️ Block 21,180,697 landed the first ever preconfed NFT mint and L1 transfer. Slot durations will matter less and less as transactions increasingly get preconfed for fast UX. This milestone is the culmination of a collaborative sprint that…
A week of reminders around what makes Ethereum, Ethereum.

First panel! Thank you for the opportunity @ETHGASofficial and especially to @DrewVdW for putting in a good word for me :)
@lvdaniels “Doesn’t compete on yield” haha @ETHGASofficial @DrewVdW @lepsoe @ethStaker
Met Fede and the first thing out of his mouth was, how can we help. Grateful for him and the team helping to support @Commit_Boost—Open for all to help build. For all to build on. For all validators to run. All as a public good, with no token, and no venture backing.
We got some great news to share. Starting next monday we are starting our full time involvement working in @Commit_Boost with @DrewVdW We are also going to start working with @titanbuilderxyz to create a builder using Lambda Rust Ethereum. Exciting times ahead!
