I absolutely loved being in Chicago. I want to go back *soon* and actually be able to enjoy myself. I had a good time, but the marathon (of course) was my priority. I still have about 5 restaurants I want to check out!

Had a conference scheduled for this weekend - had to opt out. Had a trip scheduled for early Nov. and had to cancel. Looking at opting out of a conference at the end of next month. Life is asking me to slow down a bit, but I’m not gonna fight it.
What a week. Already. But, grateful for friends + family checking in and reminding me to breathe. And shoutout to me for resting today!
So, I have to say that this award might be my favorite. @vcualumni had each award handmade by current VCUArts students. I get to add a piece of artwork to my display, and I love it!

I’ve been crying all week. Just so grateful to be on the inaugural charity team at the Chicago Marathon for Black Girls Run and running my first marathon tomorrow. Six months of preparation. Tomorrow, I take my victory lap.
