Guess who signed their first sole authored book contract with a major university press yesterday?!?! Me!!!! This is so unreal but I am so excited to get this baby out to the world. Cheers to everyone who ever mentored me so I could get here!
People use terms like “radical left” and “far left” to make it seem like our ideas are unpopular. They are popular. A majority of Americans support universal healthcare, tuition-free college, and living wages. These terms are propaganda of the ruling class.
I think the Dems underestimate how much they’ve ruined their brand: they said they were fighting “fascism” but went “just kidding!” when they lost. Said they were Team Law & Order but pardoned Hunter. Said Trump was a con man but are running an ongoing scam to pay their debts.
Elon Musk is right. The Pentagon, with a budget of $886 billion, just failed its 7th audit in a row. It’s lost track of billions. Last year, only 13 senators voted against the Military Industrial Complex and a defense budget full of waste and fraud. That must change.
The party who lost the House, Senate, White House, and the popular vote for the first time in 20 years is re-electing leadership. Completely irresponsible.
If VP Harris ran on Medicare for All, a Green New Deal, UBI, and College for All and saw the first Democratic popular vote loss in 20 years, there wouldn’t be discourse on how cultural issues lost the election. So let’s not reframe this: neoliberalism is failing electorally.
A trans person didn’t deny your health insurance claim, a giant corporation did. An asylum seeker didn’t raise your rent, a billionaire’s private equity firm did. Our focus must be taking on the billionaires & corporate greed.
If I am being honest, I do not believe people even read books or the arguments they aim to criticize. Black Male Studies is just not interested in "identities" as the primary lens of analysis.
HIV has evolved from a terminal illness to a manageable chronic condition, and preventable infection in our lifetime. Easily amongst the greatest triumphs of modern medicine and science in the last half century.
Conservatives are purging Black faculty by going after DEI, affirmative action and critical race theory. Liberals are purging Black faculty by going after political dissidents on Palestine and saying students feel “unsafe.” Both racist pathways cause the same racist outcome.
We need to pay close attention to the normalization of white nationalism and fascism through racist forms of joy and amusement. A white American tradition over the last 2 centuries that was momentarily interrupted by civil rights struggles. This seems like a good place to start

So let’s ask, why were those in the media so quick to talk down to Black men, calling them “ridiculous,” saying that President Obama didn’t “go far enough”? Why are Democrats not celebrating Black men? Holding Black men up as the standard of how men can support women? Why? 🤔
Academics will have a 2 hour conversation about how busy they both are that ends in them agreeing to co-write something new
Even with video evidence, police just lie. Thankfully the charges against Tyron McAlpin were dropped, but the police union continues to defame him and fail to take responsibility for their officers’ misconduct and abuse.
The Phoenix police union is not happy with charges against McAplin being dropped. Their statement is below.
Reminder: Black men are the most progressive male voting bloc in this country.
I never cease to be amazed at the number of self-identified scholars who don’t read books.
The attempt to portray Coates as an antisemitic Hamas sympathizer- instead of just disagreeing with his views and explaining why - feels very much like the 2008 attempt by conservatives to portray Obama as an angry Black radical. It’s objectively absurd.
We know the data. We know Black men are the largest male demographic supporting the democratic party & women candidates. BM showed overwhelming support for Harris is 2020 & Stein as an independent candidate. The liberal feminist talking points linking patriarchy to Trump is false
Awful message. The party has to stop scapegoating Black men. Black men aren’t the problem. White men and White women are. No other group votes at 87-90% for Dems but Black folk. Men and women. That is a false flag. Black men voting for Trump is insignificant. This accusatorial…
What Ta-Nehisi Coates is doing, using his standing in the liberal mainstream to enter rarefied mainstream spaces to speak out on behalf of Palestinians, even though those spaces will be invariably hostile and even perhaps subsequently foreclosed to him, is incredible
