Thank you @OSINT_Community and @dude_lynn for coming to speak with the students here at @KingsCollegeLon #OSINT skills are crucial in a wide range of sectors and organisations, and this event was super useful to help our students get into this exciting career space! @warstudies

🕵️ Inspiring Future Intelligence Professionals! The UK OSINT Community was honoured to collaborate with @dude_lynn from @OsintJobs in presenting career pathways in open-source intelligence (OSINT) to King’s College London students. Thanks to @DrRossPeel from KCL for hosting,…

"Should #Ukraine capture #Kursk #nuclear power plant?" As I explained to @newscientist, NO! Any perceived benefits would not outweigh the drawbacks for Ukraine, whilst further heightening nuclear risks. Nuclear plants must not become valid targets in war. newscientist.com/article/244410…

Not one of my pieces on this topic, but definitely worth a read for anyone following developments at #Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant. #RussiaUkraineWar

“Everything belongs to Russia now. We will take what we want.” When Russian forces took over the Zaporizhia nuclear plant in 2022, the Ukrainian workers had an impossible choice to make. 1843 magazine met a former employee econ.st/3L3CoHX 👇

How has the Russian occupation of the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant impacted nuclear security? In this podcast episode, we explore this question with @DrRossPeel, Research Fellow at @KCL_CSSS ☁️bit.ly/3VxFmdP 🎧bit.ly/4c4haFf 🍏bit.ly/4bW3mMO

I spoke on the @warstudies #podcast about the ongoing situation at #Zaporizhzhia #nuclear plant. With drone attacks and Russian plans to restart the reactors, the risks of nuclear disaster in Europe remain high. #RussiaUkraineWar #NuclearSecurity soundcloud.com/warstudies/nuc…

Drone strikes on #Zaporizhzhia #nuclear plant have been widely reported, but these are a distraction from Russia's announced plans to restart the reactor(s), putting them into a much less stable state in the midst of ongoing fighting: theconversation.com/ukraine-war-pu… #RussiaUkraineWar

[6/9] @DrRossPeel & myself from @KCL_CSSS develop a framework along two axes for a range of actions that can constrain nuclear weapons complexes and therefore impact the material prospects of reversibility. Link here: tandfonline.com/doi/full/10.10…

New publication: "Nuclear Weapons Production Complexes in a Disarmed World", discussing why it's not enough to disarm #nuclearweapons, we have to also dismantle the facilities that produce them, and setting out a framework for thinking about how to do so. doi.org/10.1080/257516…

Newly out: "Nuclear Security for Next-Generation Reactors", my chapter in the @OUPAcademic Handbook of Nuclear Security. @AgharaSukesh and I explore the unique nuclear security challenges and opportunities for small modular and advanced nuclear reactors. doi.org/10.1093/oxford…

Only sad that I didn't get to write it myself: "Dangerous Targets: Civilian Nuclear Infrastructure and the War in Ukraine". Well done to @RUSI_org's @DDolzikova and @Jack_Watling for this thoughtful report rusi.org/explore-our-re…

Loving this #nuclearstorytelling series! @StanleyConnect doing a great job of bringing out the amazing stories lived by both nuclear risk reduction leaders and developing voices. @dbsalisbury and others telling their first person accounts of their work. riskreduction.stanleycenter.org

Great to see the EU supporting small modular reactor technology development! Major funding available for work on #nuclearsafety, though sad to see #nuclearsecurity and #nuclearsafeguards getting left out again. It’s finally publication day- 10 years, 7 archives, 10s of thousands of pages of documents - my history of British nuclear policy in the 70s and 80s- “Secrecy, Public Relations and the British Nuclear Debate: how the UK government learned to talk about the bomb, 1970-1983”

Heading off to @WiltonPark today to take part in discussions about how nuclear disarmament can be made sustainable. If we want to eliminate #nuclearweapons permanently, we have to imagine what a world without them would look like before we can lay down the road to get there.

Looking forward to speaking at this event on how conditions of conflict and unrest challenge our basic assumptions about security. In times of crisis, how do you decide what to prioritise for protection?

Civil unrest and war conditions pose different and greater challenges for radioactive source security. Protection measures must be increased and adapted to the circumstances. Join us to discuss how to better prepare for such situations: wins.org/event/7859/onl…

A vital event. For too long have issues of peace and disarmament been exclusionary of diverse perspectives and voices. These issues affect us all, and all perspectives all valuable. Great work @VCDNP !
