Not only is the first paper from my thesis published but it’s now in print in @ThoraxBMJ & the editors choice no less! Full article available #OpenAccess thorax.bmj.com/content/75/7/5… @COPDdoc #COPD #PulmonaryRehab #BeetrootJuice

Systemic corticosteroids (SCS) are rife with AE @MonaBafadhel explains how we can potentially safely use endotypes to reduce the burden of SCS use in exacerbations. #BTSWinter2024

Which individuals with #COPD might respond to biologic therapies. Possibly those on triple therapy & still exacerbating (2.2-2.3/year), mMRC >= 2, BEC >= 300 cells/uL, current or former smoker, SGRQ definition of bronchitis. #BTSWinter2024

Biologics in COPD. Who do we need to focus on. Possibly those individuals on triple inhalers, super exacerbators (>3), BEC => 300 cells/uL, post BDR FEV1 >15%. #BTSWinter2024

For those individuals with COPD who are non-smoker having repeated exac.COPD with raised BEC then triple therapy is indicated. If continued exac.COPD requiring OCS, Dupilumab can be added. #BTSWinter2024

The @thamesclippers is my favourite way to travel to the #BTSWinter2024

I’ve been neglectful in my praise for colleagues at the #ERSCongress2024. Big congratulations to @maximum_science for his award winning abstract “The outcomes for introducing CLO to an exertional dyspnoea CPET service”. A brilliant representative for @UHSussex

Really excellent work by @UHSussex Respiratory Trainees presenting their work on green prescribing & carbon foot print of inhalers at #ERSCongress2024 both projects supervised by Dr Hippolyte. @EuroRespSoc

The fun thing about working with @maximum_science is I now have someone to discuss interesting respiratory physiology data with. Before colleagues would just glaze over when I started talking about something I thought was super interesting. #RespiratoryPhysiologyIsFun

For a fleeting moment all was golden in the City of Manchester. Up the boys @IpswichTown #ITFC #TractorBoys

Happy Friday. Delighted to take @lkalinx for a celebratory drink after his successful interview for a substantive respiratory consultant post @UHSussex Welcome to the team 🙌. #RespIsBest

Saturday night - Cocktail night. Bloody Mary. Never had one before. Was not sure I’d like it. Got the spice level just right. Three times what I was supposed to use. #Cocktail #BloodyMary
